July 3, 201312 yr I have a repaint for the 175 but none seem to exist for the 195, and if they do they are the FS9 version and do not look proper in FSX. Anybody come across one?

Hey Craig, if you are referring to the one I did for FS9 it does not work as you noticed in FSX. I did convert it to FSX but never uploaded it. Send me an email address that can handle a 65mb 'ish file and I'll send you my FSX version. Where did you get the Air Canada repaint for the 175? Thanks, Barry I found on on AVSIM that worked, but the 195 looks dark like the alpha channel was screwed up. It doesn't work for me. It looks too dark like the alpha is messed up.

July 3, 201312 yr Robert asked a paint question that I thought I'd post the answer(s) here so anyone who's painting can see just one way to accomplish the task... The question was: How do I make a part of the paint faded, not so bold that it looks unrealistic? The way I do it is get that part of the plane on its own layer then just adjust the opacity: This 1st screen is of the engine nacelle of the 175: I just have the original layer on with no adjustments Next I just moved the opacity slider down to get a lighter color (or fade...both are a function of the opacity slider) Next, if I needed a darker blue for other liveries (jetblue, delta, etc), I just duplicate the layer over and over to get the darkness I need. (and set each additional layer to "Multiply") The little eye with the red X means that layer is turned off. I just turn them on in the next 2 screens to get the effect I need. This is the color for Delta.... then for jetblue.... Of course, for each duplicated layer, you can adjust it's opacity to tweak the color however you need it. People always ask me if painting is hard...I tell them the word "hard" is a relative term, hehe. It was hard for me years ago, until I taught myself how to do it. (best way to learn for me). Plus when you learn little tricks like this (either by figuring it out yourself or seeing how others do it), you get better with each new paint Regards, Steve Dra Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here
July 3, 201312 yr Thanks for the reply Steve, just as Craig said earlier, this is what I like most about our community. I appreciate you taking the time to explain the technique above. All the best, Robert \Robert Hamlich/
July 3, 201312 yr Author When I end up painting aircraft, it's always awesome to check out the media section of the airline's website. In the case of Air Canada they even give you vector logos, and the HEX numbers for the actual colours of their brand. Pretty neat. Thanks for the tips Steve and I can't wait to take some shots on a flight tonight. Side note: Anybody happen to know of some "must have" tweaks for the 175/195 Ejets on these forums?
