October 23, 200421 yr Some time ago I heard that Lennart Arvidsson is preparing a new set of ground text
October 23, 200421 yr Author Commercial Member Hi, Yes it is here: http://www.flightsim.no/home/textureart/Te...exturindex1.htmbut I can't read this page , there is screenshots that's look very great, In the means time, I recommend to use: these,2004_wood_desert.zip, cliffs.zip, glacier.zip and they do not overwrite each others, they are differents each others.ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFs Kind RegardsChris Willis
October 23, 200421 yr Wow, yessss, now we are talking. The guy is a genius just like you Chris. The files seem almost finished, but are not yet available for download. And this time they seem fully compatible with autogen.Alex
October 23, 200421 yr Looks excellent. Maybe with FSRoads+Myworld+those textures flying over my home country will finally be enjoyable. He's putting the finishing touches on it now. Night textures will be created using a completely new technique and forest textures have also been extensively reworked. -
October 23, 200421 yr Has anyone tried using Lennart's FS2002 textures in FS9? I have noticed some of the filenames are the same. While on the subject I have used some other FS2002 textures in FS9 and it worked pretty good. The only thing I had to do was use Imagetool to adjust the images in order to get them to work right in FS2004, but after doing that it was smooth flying from there. Here are two samples of using FS2002 addon textures in FS2004:The textures are part of the wrldtxtu.zip package by A.Meyer.
October 23, 200421 yr Author Commercial Member Hi, Autogen are off, and since fs2004 use differents landclass on texture and differents autogen position and model compare to fs2002, it is not compatible with accuracy for fs2004.This is why lennart will release new one.ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFs Kind RegardsChris Willis
October 24, 200421 yr I agree, great scenery, but from where? Since I don't read any of the Scandanavian languages (I'm o.k. with English and Spanish), is this scenery US or where? Also, is there an English or Spanish translated page?
October 24, 200421 yr It's just replacement textures, not an actual complete scenery. The goal is to give the FS9 textures a nordic "feel". I don't know if those textures will also be visible elsewhere or if he will only do the ones that show up in the landclass for the Nordic countries. -
October 24, 200421 yr That is an interesting question. Although they should give a nordic feel as you put it you can well use them for all of Europe. But they would definitely look wrong in e.g. the US. The FS2002 set did definitely overwrite some of the textures that were used in other parts of the world too. The workaround for me was that I put a landclass file for all of Europe in a scenery folder and a complete set of FS textures including Lennart's in an adjacent texture folder. I installed the whole thing as SceneryEurope. That way the textures would only show up in Europe. Since the new MyWorld landclass covers all of the world in one file that approach won't work anymore I am afraid.Alex
October 25, 200421 yr Author Commercial Member Hi, The texture will be available in november, and for those know from his earlier works, these are texture replacement for the entire generic texture for the ground in Flight Simulator 9SceneryWorldtexture and they are not landclass or scenery or anythhing, it replace the default fs2004 ground texture and preserve the autogen position.ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFs Kind RegardsChris Willis
