Verizon FiOS is very fast and has big time bandwidth. I have the service and love it. Multi-gigabyte file are no match for FiOS :-)>wow 2 1/2 hours on DSl..I have 6MB cable and about 30 minutes>into the download and approx 7 GB to go it was telling me 2>1/2 hours so that would clock me at 3 hours...thats some>pretty darn fast DSL you got there. My d/l speed is clocking>around 500-800Kb a sec.

Ripped off? Everything was free... I am confused. I clicked a link on Microsoft, was prompted to download and 15 minutes later I was installing FSX Demo. I didn't pay 1 cent.

1.2 MB/sec here. Download is done...took less than 15 mins. Gotta love FiOS :-)Again thanks a ton for posting that link!

Nice!! That download is super fast. The other one tanked on me. I just started this 3 mins ago and it's already almost 50% done.

Thx for the mirror. 6:11 PDT, the servers are maxed out but I was able to get into one! I am user 947 out of 950 LOL! 260 KB/sec... not the best speed but amazing considering there are 950 other downloads going from that machine.

Make sure you don't have any programs running that are in your FS folder. For example, ActiveSky or any image tool. You may also need to restart and do it from safe mode if you still have problems.

I had often wondered if someone would be able to take real time data and convert it into FS flightplans. Now it's a reality :-OIf only this had international flights, I would buy it in a heartbeat. I think I will wait for the price to come down. Very sweet idea though!!

Has anyone tried using Lennart's FS2002 textures in FS9? I have noticed some of the filenames are the same. While on the subject I have used some other FS2002 textures in FS9 and it worked pretty good. The only thing I had to do was use Imagetool to adjust the images in order to get them to work right in FS2004, but after doing that it was smooth flying from there.Here are two samples of using FS2002 addon textures in FS2004:The textures are part of the wrldtxtu.zip package by A.Meyer.

I was both shocked and saddened when I heard about this tragedy. It was very hard to even watch the video they had of the crash on KUSI news. My condolences to him and his family.

Thanks for the input.After some testing I think I found what was causing my problem. I've been able to find out where in my scenery.cfg it crashes. For some reason when I have the terrain "FSFreeware" mesh for Australia activated the sim will bomb out when loading Jakarta. I turn off the mesh and it loads fine.The same thing was happening at WIIM as well. The sim would load terrain and about 18% through it would close.Strange eh?

Anyone tried GameJackal (http://www.gamejackal.com) to see if it works with FS2004? I know it worked before the patch. The program allows you to run most games without the CD. I have not tried it but I may this weekend to see how it works out.

By the way the file that the installer choked on was ABLSCPT.DLL located in the Modules folder.

I know your pain. I just went through this as well. I am up and running again with all my addons but it required some work.

What's with the self righteous crap today?Who here actually pulls out the FS9 CD-ROM and pops it into their drive every time they fire up the sim? What happens when the CD gets really scratched and the sim won't read it anymore because of excessive use? Buy another copy? Make a *GASP* backup copy?!? Better not because it might offend the big boys up in Redmond.Give me a break!!!
