April 17, 200422 yr Hi all,I just upload my program 'GA-Traffic' to the library. It should show up later today.GA-Traffic is the first and maybe only GA traffic generator specially build for FS2004. It is very straightforward and do all generation work for you. Features:+ Generate GA traffic for every installed airport of the whole FS2004 world at once+ Full automatic detection of installed planes and airports+ Simulate different GA traffic behavior + 'Virtual landing fees' unique algorithm to avoid GA traffic generation on busy commercial airports+ Amphibian planes used only near seaports+ Amount of plane usage selectable for every livery+ Different plane usage (Taxi, Business, Rental, Student, Club and Private) selectable for every livery+ Unique 'Make AI' function to reduce the texture size of addon planes to hold the Frames per second up.+ Proofed Aircraft files for correct AI flying behavior + Integrated TTools from Lee Swordy, no need to manual generate the traffic files.Copyrights and Credits:This program is made by Markus Brunner ([email protected]) and is total Freeware. You can distribute it only as Freeware and if you respect the copyright of the included helper programs (TTools from Lee Swordy, Imagetool from Microsoft and NVDXT and READDXT from Nvidia). The program use TTools from Lee Swordy for BGL file generation.I thanks all my ALPHA and BETA testers without the program never would be made.Testers:David VoogdRon Broyles (RonB49)EdSteve Jones Scott Gridleyand all otherPlease use this thread for error reporting and discussion and only send me a e-mail if this way didn't work!
April 17, 200422 yr Sounds great!! I can't wait!:-jumpyhttp://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
April 17, 200422 yr Wow, thanks Markus! I've been looking for something like this for a long time. I'm heading over to the library now to dl it.Don
April 17, 200422 yr This sounds wonderful Markus but dare I ask. . . will it work with Ultimate Traffic running? If so, then the skies will be a lot more real.Rick GrantCalgary Alberta Rick Grant Calgary YYC www.rickgrant.com www.thedisastertourist.com
April 17, 200422 yr As one of the alpha testers, I would like to encourage people to give this nifty little program a try.I'm one of those busy simmers who has not taken the time to learn the ins and outs of AFCADs and AI traffic generation, and I have been on the look-out for easy-to-use programs to perform these functions. I have found Ultimate Traffic great for my larger airports and commercial traffic, but UT did not generate traffic for my local regional airport (KHEF), for example. GA-Traffic integrates nicely with UT and provides general aviation traffic at the smaller airports. Also, GA-traffic runs great on my older computer (AMD 1800+/ 512ram/ Ti4200) as long as I make sure that I'm not using any high texture aircraft (my Seneca V, Cardinal, Archer, etc) as AI planes. Markus has also included the "Make AI" function and ways of adjusting the percentage of GA parking slots filled which I think will make the program fps friendly for a wide range of computers. If you are looking for a GA traffic generator, I think you will find Markus has done a nice job with this program.Steve J.
April 17, 200422 yr I'll definitely try it - some FS2004 GA airports are very quiet by default while in reality the airport has 30+ operations / day. Some of course completely lack parking spots so it still requires some manual work for these. Two questions:-Does it generate region-specific registration numbers? e.g. no N### registered aircraft in Germany?-Does it generate touch and go flightplans? -
April 17, 200422 yr JimmieG -I should probably let Markus answer this definitively (and I'm sure he will), but in the meantime, I believe the answers to your questions are as follows:1) The registration numbers are country specific, except that MS has a limit of 7 characters.....for numbers that are too long, I believe these aircraft default to U.S. numbers. So for Germany you would get D...... 2) I'm not sure...I know there are 6 different types of flight profiles (taxi, business, rental, student, club, private)and you can adjust the minimum and maximum flight times on them, but I don't think this would result in a touch-and-go flight plan. Perhaps one of the other testers understands this is more detail. As I said....I'm a "plug and play" type of user, and I haven't really adjusted a lot of the detailed settings.HTH, Steve J.
April 18, 200422 yr Allright the program is available now from the library. It sure looks like it genreates touch and go flightplans. Sais so in the docs :) A very important feature since many GA airports have a couple of students in beat up C172's and C152's doing bounce and go's :)Hopefully this program will spur development of lots of low-detail GA planes intended for AI. Kind of like Project AI but for GA. I don't like the idea of having 10 Flight 1 C152's in the pattern - I'd be happy if I got over 1 FPS :-lolUnfortunately the program freezes every time I try to generate the flightplan. -
April 18, 200422 yr I think Im going to take a wait and see attitude with this one. I have worked very very hard to get my AI just where I want them. I would love to add more GA at some remote airports etc, but will not risk messing up my traffic bgls with a one fix utility. If this is a magic bullet, then by all means I'll be all over it in a day or two after the guinea pigs have given it the once over! Please post your results and how it behaves. My great hope is that whatever it adds, will be a separate bgl, not an amendment or modification of any existing bgls...especially not the main traffic.bgl!!Eric AND
April 18, 200422 yr Ok somethings wrong... or its just too easy.I told it what planes to not use, since it wanted to use everything including a few jeeps and float planes. Fuddled with some settings and compiled... and thats really it?
April 18, 200422 yr "Ok somethings wrong... or its just too easy.I told it what planes to not use, since it wanted to use everything including a few jeeps and float planes. Fuddled with some settings and compiled... and thats really it? "Jeez, then I might actually be able to make it work. :-) Greg
April 18, 200422 yr You're right....I went back and looked at the flightplan generation tab.....there's a value for "T&G Percentage" where you can adjust the probability of a flight ending with touch & goes at the destination airport.

In that case there is nothing to lose, right? Edit: Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. It kept crashing with msvcr70.dll. Win XP Home.
