July 23, 201312 yr Hi All, I just know this has been covered somewhere before, but when I need it I can't find it! I have been doing a few PMDG B737NGX FSX repaints of late and on one I have a small white gap appear between Fuselage 1 and 2 sections (see attached pic). I can't get rid of it and really want to finish to he repaint! Any ideas? Peter Peter Stark
July 23, 201312 yr That happens in quite a lot of models, Interior and exterior, The usual way is to paint beyond the seams of the joins on the texture sheet, creating a kind of overlap, usually works, other than that, no idea. Good luck with it sara
July 23, 201312 yr Author The PMDG paintkit requires you to split the main texture into 3 parts - you can't over paint the 3 stitched fuelage sections. It might take a PMDG repainter to be able to answer this? Peter Stark
July 25, 201312 yr Yes, .....but. After cutting and pasing make sure all colors are 100% opaque onto the edge of the texturesheets. Some times the cutting and pasting is problematic when using the anti aliasing setting during cutting. When cutting a black texture with AA on we end up with a piece having grey edges. When we have two of these grey edges joined together on the model we end up with a grey line on the model. Always make sure NOT to use AA when cutting and pasting.
July 25, 201312 yr You can also expand the texture area by 2 or 3 pixles and that sometimes helps. Joe Watson Lake Placid, Florida
July 25, 201312 yr Expanding a texture with some pixels DOES NOT work. Making a 1024x1024 texture a 1026x1026 texture makes the model fail to work.
July 25, 201312 yr I ment Texture layer. when I said texture area. I have cured some of mine by expanding a color layer by 2 or 3 pixels. Joe Watson Lake Placid, Florida
August 5, 201312 yr That will happen due to the level of detail you set in the FSX Options menu. Bump your level of detail up and it will go away. Blue skies! Lloyd O Boyette Aircraft Repainter / Web Designer
August 5, 201312 yr Commercial Member We figured out what causes these seams in the 777 development btw - it's fixed there and will be fixed for the NGX SP2. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
