July 25, 201312 yr I sometimes find it difficult using the "hand" to move between the APP, VOR, MAP and PLN settings in the "CTR" This also applies to the milage range knob (from 5 to 64 miles) next to the "CTR" Is there perhaps a way other than the "hand" to make those changes? Cliff Cliff Harris
July 25, 201312 yr Hi Cliff, you can assign keys to that using the PMDG menu in the FMC... Regards Arne Bergner
July 25, 201312 yr Hi Cliff, I use the mouse wheel very much for all rotary knobs. The mouse wheels are almost always rasterized, so one wheel "tick" means one knob raster position further/back. So when close to the knob, the hand symbol shows up and you can try the mouse wheel... Trick: If you have a mouse wheel that can be e.g. push-toggled between "rasterized mode" and "free roll mode" (like my Logitech M555b mouse), it is a good way to set minimums (MINS: RADIO/BARO) in "free roll mode": This way it is possible to rapidly set BARO MINS for high elevation airports like e.g. SLLP (El Alto, La Paz) with 13325 ft in a reasonable time. In "rasterized mode" for these values an extra holding pattern should be set in the FMC ... :-) Claus KUEPPER
July 25, 201312 yr That mouse wheel interface is the only thing I dislike about interface in the NGX. My FSX machine is an 27" iMac and I use Apple's Magic mouse. Precision scrolling with that mouse is a major pain. On the other hand, I also fly Real Air's Duke a lot and their interface for rotary knobs is phenomenal! You click, hold and then move mouse up or down for the direction of the rotation. Fantastic. Marko Milivojević
July 26, 201312 yr Hi, On the other hand, I also fly Real Air's Duke a lot and their interface for rotary knobs is phenomenal! You click, hold and then move mouse up or down for the direction of the rotation. Fantastic. Yeah, that's personal preference. I prefere the system PMDG uses, and set my Duke acordingly. Maybe buy another mouse, that will solve that problem easily. John Rubens
