Has anyone been able to get into the Captsim forum? I've been trying for hours, but it just times out.Dave Fisher

It's been like that for at lease a few hours. I was watching with some amusement all the negative posts about the patch being late, then it came out this morning and didn't fix a bunch of things, and then they pulled the patch, apparently. You should have seen the posts then, hehe. CS might have just decided they've had enough and turned it off for a while....billg

I tried to download the patch but it contained no data. CS is never going to hear the end of this. I, like a lot of people have been waiting a long time for that patch........Dave Fisher

I, like a lot of people have been waiting a long time for that patch........How long has the 707 been out ?

It was released on Sept 29. So almost a month now.I am among those who purchased it and have been silently waiting for the update. In all honesty though, this product had no business being released in its current state. I will spare you the reasons and just direct you to sort through the Captain Sim 707 forum if you are interested. The one thing that still gets me is that over the course of the past month CS has posted in their 707 forum that they do not work on the weekends. Now, I have worked for software companies in the past and when we have a buggy piece of software that was release and now needs to be patched; we worked seven days a week until it was done. Thus over the course of the last three weeks CS tossed six days worth of progress at the expense of their reputation and customers' frustration. My suspicion is that CS was backed into a corner and may not have had enough money to pay their bills. If this is the situation; they made the decision to release it as is, use the immediate income from the sales to pay the bills, and perform damage control while polishing up the software. This is nothing new to the FS Community as I have seen other FS addon companies do the same thing... why else would they release a product that they know to be beta quality?Unlike some of the individuals in the CS Forums, I have descided that there are many other things in life to get stressed over. So losing my grip on reality over a $37 piece of software is not going to happen. I can find plenty of other things to occupy myself in FS2004 while I wait for the CS707 Update. The bottom line is that while CS's performance in this matter has been disappointing, but I have faith that they will release the patch and we will all be happy again in the FS-World :-D

HelloThis thread just reaffirms my decision not to buy any advanced payware aircraft on release.Believe me when I tell you that I enjoy the hobby much more when I`m not waiting on a patch and reading spin from a developer. The developer will eventually get my money if I`m interested in their product and I`m satisfied that outstanding issues have been addressed. In the end it takes more time but I have patience and it`s worth it.Troy

I mjust be the only one that has no problems with the 707. I flew the E3 around the world on two different computers with out one single problem. I know there are a few minor issues but there have been no show stoppers for me anyway.

Hello All, Well, I just noticed on the main page that CS had given an update to fix some of the problems that some are having with the 707. Nice to see a fix after the fact.Best,Claywww.dreamfleet2000.com/Previews/727/preview_home.html|http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/Forum_Banners/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. Hi ClaytonGlad to see you are testing the DF727.I`ll be looking hard at this one.:)Troy

Troy, you're just gonna love it . . . it's sweet and it's RIGHT!Haven't had so much fun since the last real one I flew.Claywww.dreamfleet2000.com/Previews/727/preview_home.html|http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/Forum_Banners/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. Dopke (Clay)Major, USAF (retired)"Drac"

Captain Sim have a fairly consistent track record. What's happening with the 707 is not fundamentally different than the previous 727 and F-104 escapades. There are already so many good aircraft out there, I don't need to spend top dollar for what I know will be another bucket of headaches. The feedback they're getting after the initial release and the first "patch" (sounds more like a still-incomplete early beta release from the writeups) confirmed my good judgement."Fool me once...shame on you. Fool me twice...shame on ME!"RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Washingon, DC
