With all the junk going on over at the main FSX forum it is easy to forget this can be a place to get together and enjoy aviation.

 

Just received this video in the mail. Hand flying a giant machine into one of the busiest airports in the world with Auto thrust off.

Thank you for that. Although my recent approach to that Rwy was only in a mere WestJet 737-700 as a r/l passenger, nevertheless, that view from the cockpit was absolutely superb.

 

No A/T and no A/P for such a big beast. Airmanship skills at their best.

Lovely clip, SFO was always a lovely airport to fly into, can't wait to get back there in a few months time...  ^_^  Albeit not in an A380...  :(

I think Lufthansa and Swiss are known for encouraging their pilots to hand fly as much as possible, I've seen plenty of Swiss videos where the pilot was still had the A/P off well into the climbout.
