August 4, 201312 yr Like many, the Boeing 777 was really the first aircraft that got me interested in aviation. Nothing is close or has come close to its size and abilities, and because of that, it really is a remarkable feat of engineering. Over the last several months my interests in aviation have move from general aviation back to commercial aviation. Much of this is due to the fact that I now work for a company that is producing major components for the CFM LEAP engines which will be powering the A320Neo and the 737 MAX and the Boeing 787 landing gear. So I have a big interest in the manufacture of aircraft. The other day I found a gem on YouTube that I would like to share with everyone. Back in the mid 1990's there was a documentary series about the construction of the 777. And the whole series is available to watch on YouTube. The series: 21st Century Jet - Making the Boeing 777 is approximately 30 parts, which is roughly 5 hours long and covers just about everything from the 777's conception to the first delivery. It's amazing to watch because you can see how some of the issues from the 777 development made its way into the 787. If you copy this YouTube playlist link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=01PjWv7eqAk&feature=share&list=PL51BFEA43F6B83D94 It will open the full playlist in your browser and you can watch the whole thing from start to finish. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did, good way to pass the time while waiting. Nick Preston
August 4, 201312 yr Hi As I mentioned in a previous thread, there is also a book that goes with this series by the same name. If you like this series you might want to check the book out. It goes into far more depth. Regards, Safa Bakhshi
