Gold Rush

Featured Replies

While ago I started to fly airliners after my "bush" and "GA" simulating career. Purchased some payware airliners and after using them for a while it reminds me a little bit of a Gold Rush. Authors take their tools and start digging for the money, lol. I constantly change planes because I'm still looking for an airliner that gives me some satisfying moments while flying. Here's what I got:

B727: Certainly the best of my payware aircraft. Works as advertised, fun to fly and well done. Too bad the range of the VOR's in XPX make it hard to simulate these retro flights. No paint kit released. I'd like to paint up a few but they want to sell texture packs. Not that the textures are something special and would be worth extra €, they are just digging for some more gold.

A320 NEO by JAR design. Short of 1.5 update that should fix the flight model that is way off in 1.4.

Peter Hager A320: Very good fly by wire simulation, great flight model by the books, but lacks of a good FMC. Added the UFMC. It helps to key in SID and STAR but leads to other problems.

Heinz B787: Cheap, but in no way payware quality. Visual and system bugs. If it would be freeware it would be nice but it's not worth hard earned money.

That are the planes I own. Given the advice about some other products I come to the conclusion that we don't have a complete, bug free and full featured airliner yet.

PMDG, do you hear me?

PMDG, do you hear me?

They must, but they're too busy with their 777 I believe... But just as you, I'm really looking fwd to see their first XpX add-on...

Meanwhile I am really enjoying my NGX, more than any airliner for XpX, although I do not own the Neo or the 727, and particularly the 727 should be good, I know, but I have spent already too many money / hopes in airliner add-ons for this sim :-/

And of course we can't forget about the upcoming 737, and the Saab 340, which I am sure will raise the bar again!

Nice to see that there are airliners out there for XPX also. I've not gone larger than the MU-2 personally. That 727 looks like it got enough buttons and switches to keep you busy.

I guess the big question is when PMDG release their first XPX plane. Are there any clues?

EDIT: the Felis Yak 40 might be good though. I had his IL-14 and AN-24 in XP9 and those we're really good.

I guess in 2014, there is no way we will see it this year :(  BUT the IXEG 737 (Study Sim) is coming out this Fall/Winter....I hope!

Yes!  A friend keeps insisting with me that I should really get the recently upgraded to 64 bit An-24, but I am hopping for it to become available for DCS .... The AI models are already there ... :-)

You mean the NGX in FSX? There is a free 737 NG in XPX but no VC.

I don't understand how that free NG is so famous    I can't stand it     I hate freeware Airplanes in XP10.

One good thing about it, it has a nice realistic wing flex.

One thing J.C. forgot is is the 777 in XPX until the 757 or the IXEG come out, I heard it's decent.
