AOTD for 8/16/13 - Track across Talkeetna

Featured Replies

With all the hubbub about the end of aerocaches and a busy schedule, I almost missed posting this one. This was released yesterday, and is still available. It's a new one also.

Enjoy, as none of us know how many of these there will be.

Thank you.

Rick

Just thought I'd check one more time, a pleasant surprise. While you are there, check out some of the nice detail at the Talkeetna airport.

This is one of mine, only a couple hours left. Yes, there is a lot of detail here and every thing is spot on. Landing at Talkeetna airport. Notice the old airstrip right down town in both shots.

Funny one, this. I'd been away from Flight (and this forum) for several months, since April, I think. I started it up and went for the cache, but, as usual, not going through the "hunt for aerocache" feature or from the suggested starting airport. Just went into free flight and took off from Songlo Vista, to the north, getting used to my TrackIR I'd gotten in March but only used a couple of times. When I got to the bridge, the AOTD was not there. Flew around and around. Not there. I thought, oh geez, those messages were true, no more aerocaches.

So just to make sure, I went back and started via the "hunt for aerocache" page, and this time it was there. Weird, never seen that before.

Anyway, it was fun to fly again after a few months off. And I'm liking the TrackIR a lot.

I have had the TrackiR for over a year and really love it. That and the new combat rudder rudder pedals that I got at the same time really makes the difference. Took me right back to my C-150 training days.
