Interesting Base Locations for Air Hauler

Featured Replies

Paul, given your Kerema base, you might want to get the (free) pack of Torres Strait islands available from OzX. Nice little stepping-stones to get from PNG across to the tip of Queensland if you have small or STOL aircraft.

I had a base at Bulolo - good tarmac strip in a lovely setting - and another at Hoskins on New Britain (big island between PNG 'mainland' and the Solomons.

'Raw Grit' is by far the best value for money Pacsim add-on. Appalachia is a nice set of airfields, but you only get textures for the immediate surrounds. PNG is the whole country (especially if you also get the (free) Holgermesh for PNG (also from OzX), with 40-odd airstrips from beaches to mountain tops and everything in between.

Yep, Portia, I have the Torres Straits islands, and the OzX Papua new guinea mesh. Thanks for mentioning them to me, anyway. :)

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

Is the OzX PNG mesh better than the mesh that comes with the Pacsim add on?

Best to run both. Install the Holgermesh (OzX) first, then install Raw Grit over the top.

Just got back into flying Air Hauler after a short hiatus of a few months so I'm out of the loop scenery-wise.  My company, Island Sun Pacific, flies a squadron of DC3's out of PHNG.  I'm using GEX and UT terrain (and REX weather) and enjoying those.  One o' these days I'll get around to making a livery.  Anyway, I enjoy flying around the islands and have a fairly decent hauling business-- none of my pilots lack for work <runs off to crack the whip>.
