Ok, I am developing some weird issues with my PMDG Aircraft

Afternoon folks,

Over the past few days I have developed some weird issues with some of my aircraft. I have mentioned one in the NGX forum and that is still unresolved at this time as far as I know. 2nd issue is, when I took off with the 737-800 the landing gear would not retract, had to restart the flight and sim, and today when flying the 747X the flight started off well, but on approach the flaps would not extend.

Before you ask, there were no active failures, and all my electric and hydraulic was in proper function. Any ideas guys (and gals)?

Are you using FS2Crew? Did you try (I know nobody does this, but it's a test) to use the mouse and click on the actual lever in the cockpit? Does the animation show it moving? Do the instruments show 3 green? Flaps 30/40? If nothing of these work I would try a reinstall...

No, I am using RAAS from FS2Crew and thats all from them. My lever moves, and on the display it shows I am in the proper position but the white that shows where the flaps should be..well, it shows them fully retracted. When I tried to retract the gear, the red showed as if they were unlocked but the 2 green remained illuminated and the gear was locked down.

Are you running FSX as administrator? Did you run the installers (aircraft installers) as admin? This is a common problem. Try that, if not I will try to think of something else! I found if you had the Admin option locked so you don't need to right click on the App every time. Mine for some reason or other unchecks itself every about 4 months.

I always run everything as admin, and it seems so far to be only affecting PMDG aircraft. Its kind of weird yes. I re-installed the 736/737 and the problem remained.

Hi Brian,

I had the same issue with the -700. I was using the Honeywell MCP. I changed it to the Collins, and problem went away.

Sounds daft I know, but it fixed my issue. I was meaning to send support ticket, but have not got around to it. I have no idea why changing the mcp fixed it. This did not occur with the -800. Only the -700.

I was getting a weird issue with my joystick assignments, where I'd hit my gear toggle and it would cycle up and then back down with each press.  Turned out that FSX was duplicating FSUIPC's commands, so FSUIPC toggled the gear and FSX would follow it up with another toggle command.  As such, it was commanding it up, and then FSX was commanding it back down.  Try using the keyboard commands.  If they work, you might need to check that you don't have command conflicts.

I had a similar problem caused by a PanelState file, could try renaming/deleting if you have any.

Hmm, maybe that is why changing the MCP worked ? As I saved panel state after changing mcp

Could be, I never had another issue with it since; maybe caused by prematurely ending FSX at some stage.

That could cause the FMS problems...but what about non functioning gear and flaps?

Why not? Problem I had caused the plane to fly off, do a loop, and crash into the ground as soon as it loaded.

Ok Steve, I will buy that. I will do it for the 747 and the 737, I will let you know if that works. At this point, I am willing to try anything.

Well main thing is there's no harm done if you backup so anything's worth a try.

What about disabling any axis not used or stop using a trim axis instead use buttons only?

Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com

Brian, my gear would not raise..that's what I was going on about. Changing  and saving a new  panel state seemed to fix it for me
