AutoCruise and Simrate problem

Featured Replies

First thank you for this great airplane.

I do have a little issue when hitting the Autotime compression to on in the FMC or on the chrono.

For reasons i am not aware of the SIMRATE starts to go from 1x to 4x then back to 1x etc etc.

My Time compression is set to (up to 4x)

I can not reset this SIMRATE behavior because the function is toned down

Thanks

PS First flight with the BAW109 EGLL-OMDB

Michael - do you have a lot of turbulence or wind shifting going on? The auto time compression reduces to help stability in unstable air so a wind shift or whatever doesn't knock the plane way off course.

That makes sense, I've noticed it come down for waypoint turns too .......... cool feature.

Yes. Flying last night Dubai to Vienna through severe weather the sim kept real time. Once we were in clear air time compression kicked in perfectly.

???? please then guide me to the page were the explanation of this behaviour is. Remember this problem is about The Simrate function (which i dont understand why we need this when you have developed the Autocruise function) and NOT the Time compression.

Had you read the intro manual, you would not be getting frustrated with me about this:

1 - the question would've been answered

2 - you would know that the sim rate is being changed by the auto cruise function...

Auto cruise drives the sim rate function.  Page 120 alludes to this.  It is further explained in the Tutorial.  The auto cruise function automatically throttles the sim rate to ensure that the autopilot behaves appropriately.

Read the intro manual.  Please.

Hi Ryan

Yes i think so. Maybe its me not getting the ideer correctly. Is Autotime compression "connected" to the Simrate function within the FSX? Is so why is the reset button in the FMC then "toned down -none clickable with Autotime "on"?)

To PMDG:

The auto cruise feature doesn't do this for every waypoint - which would be useful for addons like RadarContact that track every waypoint of your route.

Is there any chance to implement an option like "1x sim rate around every waypoint" in an upcoming SP?
