Autoland throttle

Featured Replies

Hi,

I do a full autoland, I have the speeds set from the FMC REF page so I am not going too fast, when I get to 100ft I disengage the autothrottle and reduce throttles to idle, and the aircraft got down to 10ft but didn't land, am I supposed to leave the autothrottle engaged and am I supposed to make the throttles to idle

Thanks in advance

You leave the autothrottle on for autolands and I want to say for landings by hand as well. All you have to do is engage reversers. The AP will even steer you down centerline. I've been disconnecting autothrottle at 30ft and the flare for manual landings. It's odd that it got down to 10ft but didn't land. At that height with idle thrust you won't be floating for very long. Eventually it will land. What speed did you have set on the mcp? Should be vref+5, 140ish.

It was 151 plus 5

Could it have been because I turned off the autothrottle and set the to idle manually

Not for the 737.

Also the 737 will not steer you on the runway by default, have to have extra equipment installed.
