Hi people, how are we all doing today?Right now please lets not get this topic locked its just a simple question. Just bought the new 737 VCe from Ariane and i love it, but I was just wondering how to get the navdata to work for the FMC as each time i try to input an airport code it says NOT IN DATABASE. For those of you who have it I have read the manuals and aligned the IRS correctly, its got me stumped now. Do I need to download the Navdata separately or not because I have a file, navdata folder, with the navdata file in my Ariane folder in the FS9 Root file but dont know if there is another one to download for it?Any help would be appreciated Thanks for your helpRichard

Hi, I can't help you with your problems but I'm about to purchase the 737ng too, so I hope you get support so I can benefit from that! How's the vc on the frames and is the gauge refresh rate acceptable? There aren't any proper reviews on this ac available to my knowledge. It's like a taboo..the pmdg 737 is numerously praised on all fs-sites....

hiI got a file navdata.dat in ArianeNavdata folder and its 46MB large.There is actually no newer one AFAIK as the one supplied in the -900 vce. Maybe with the release of the -600 they come up with a new one.cheersMartin

Cheers guys for replying. The problem is that the FMC doesnt recognise that there is any navdata installed. Martin, does the file in your navdata folder read navdata or navdata.dat? Mine just reads navdataAs for the frames well to be honest I get the same as I do on the PMDG, I like both of them just the same they are two very well modelled aircraft. Im not just saying that either, I know that Ariane has had some bad press but I like it, I just dont want this thread that I started to go down the locking thread route!Thanks for your timeRichard

mine reads navdata.datbut watch out -> my explorer settings are set to display file extensions aswell for known types. *.dat is usually a known type for windows and so no extension is displayed. ;) god, i hate that feature, whenever one of my users struggles over this sh..have you tried another airport? eg LSZH or KEWR. This one works for me. The only things where i am facing troubles is when importing the FS9 flightplan. Mostly the SIDS and STARS of the choosen route is wrong and i have to edit the flightplan manually.cheersMartin

Well the way it gets locked is the my sim Vs. your sim debate that does not need to happen. You have mentioned PMDG without ANYONE else doing it first, so why not keep PMDG out of this thread since they have nothing whatsoever to do with Ariane and IS what causes the bad blood to follow? Well thankyou Randy for that bit of, shall we say, helpfull information. I wasnt aware that I had to consult you first on what I am allowed to say. With regards to you saying that I brought PMDG into it maybe you should read the question that was asked of me ie what do I think of the sim. My reply was in favour of both companies, and as a loyal PMDG customer over the years I do not appreciate being spoken to in this manner.All I was after was a bit of help for my new toy, the thread probably would not have gone down this route if you had not posted that completely irrelevant statement. You don't like Ariane -> Fine -> keep yourself out of those threads. Why you don't get back to your PDMG Forum and try to convince people why they should pay for a 747 to get a working IRS when after all people what to have it in the 737. How can you compare a 737 and 747? Sad enough to read that PMDG does not implement a IRS on their 737.@Richard: contact me on PM.
