September 6, 201312 yr Hi people,I have had this mysterious problem occur to me before a few times, and haven't been able to find the cause. My PC is decent and I can maintain 30 FPS 98% of the times. I run VSync 1/2 refresh rate in Inspector which makes everything super smooth. My FSX experience is therefore very very smooth for the vast majority of scenarios, even when flying over big cities such as LA. But here at the Los Angeles area, there seems to be something strange occuring all the time.I come in to land at KLAX, everything smooth as always, touch down, watch the replay in FSRecorder, and usually after watching it the second time, everything starts to microstutter horribly, even though FPS is still at 30. I get out the of the replay, and the problem persists, I take off from KLAX, and the problem seems even worse. It's no long pause or big stutters, but just choppy motions with horrendous microstuttering. I know it's not FSRecorder related, because when I jump in a plane such as the NGX or 777X at this airport - without using FSRecorder in advance - to go for a few patterns, the problems arises as well suddenly out of nowhere at the second or third pattern. So, by the looks of it seems to be related to coming back to a certain area in this city for the second time in a row in one FSX session. The strangest thing is, is that I don't even have any major add-ons installed for that area, it's all the default scenery! I do have FTX Global, and I suspect that to be a plausible cause because of a bug in this area. It is also unrelated to the airplane I use. Default planes, or PMDG planes, doesn't make a difference. For the rest add-ons used are, as said, FTX Global, and REX. For this area I don't have UTX.So again, apparently it only occurs when flying over a certain area in LA twice (in FSRecorder or not) in one FSX session. This tells me there is something up with the scenery over there but not sure what, it could be FTX Global but I don't want to uninstall all of that now.I have done some hard stress testing over other big cities like New York, Dallas, Paris doing all kinds of things like watching numerous replays and over flying the city many times but it would always remain smooth. In the LA area however, I was always able to reproduce the problem regardless of the airplane used.I hope anyone else has seen this problem before and knows what's causing it? Arjen Vandervelde
September 6, 201312 yr I'd assume the road traffic to play a role. If you have it enabled perhaps try a run with 0%. I think add-ons like UTX also deliver traffic, so you might disable those too for testing. Good luck. :-) / sent from a mobile thingy /

Good luck. :-) / sent from a mobile thingy / I don't have road traffic (nor any AI traffic) and I don't use UTX for this area as mentioned. Note it only happens over LA and nowhere else. September 6, 201312 yr I just had the same thing happen to me on Vatsim on 25L approach and had to disconnect and quit the sim.
September 6, 201312 yr Author I just had the same thing happen to me on Vatsim on 25L approach and had to disconnect and quit the sim. Interesting, what kind of stutters were you experiencing, long pauses or quick violent microstuttering? Are you also using FTX Global? Arjen Vandervelde
September 8, 201312 yr Author As well. On departure from FSDT LAX. Hello Ryan, so by the looks of it, it is not related to one person or one system specifically. It might instead be related to a specific setting or add-on. Maybe we can find the culprit so I have a few questions for you: 1. Are you using FTX Global? 2. Are you using FSRecorder? 3. What exactly are you scenery settings? 4: Did you ever experience it before? Arjen Vandervelde
September 9, 201312 yr 1. Are you using FTX Global? I wouldn't be surpised if he is. When I depart from KELM, I always get a strange stutter at about 2500 feet. This never happened until I purchased FTX Global. Nonetheless, it's worth it. September 10, 201312 yr My fps dropped to 0.3 and then back to normal, so a long pause. I have had a similar issue on X-Plane 10 on ILS 25L where the localizer is broken up and you can see black and white tears across where the localizer of 25L would be on LAX, so I think it has something to do with the localizer on FSX.
