Delta 201 FAOR-KATL no CTD!

Recommended Posts

Good morning, I had OPUS giving me constant head winds of 80 kts the whole way(that's over 1000 air miles added),they never changed. I only checked memory usage at the end,as an after thought.

As an experiment,I had my REX 1024 clouds at 80 miles, and cloud 3d slider all the way off. I have UT2 at 50 %,FTX Global,UTX,LOD at 4.5 and texture max load at 2048. That flight is mostly over water, which probably helped. I noticed the real flight stayed at 30,000 feet,I step climbed to 380,I should have stayed at 300.

Jim

Why should you have stayed at FL300? When I find out how to do an auto step climb, I am going to try the eastbound flight.

I'm in the middle of a ESSA to OMDB flight (only 5 hours, short haul  :P ). What I have noticed is my VAS is down comparably to the NGX, only a small difference but every little helps! I got a strange CTD though, KERNELBASE.dll and never had it before! I've put this down to one of those things that just happens every now and again and not blaming the sim or T7.

I believe most of the ocean routes have only specific flight levels you can use. Crossing all the S. America - Europe paths I believe requires him to stay at those lower levels.

Same here. Since installed pmdg 777 i get sometime kernel crashes even when flying airbus extended for example.

But the whole performance of pmdg 777 is quite good i have to say. For me much better then the 737ngx...

Congrats, a relative of mine did a round trip on this flight; I kind of envy her but it must be pretty grueling in economy class.

I should have stayed at 300 for winds,I noticed the latest flight filed for 280.

Here is the route.

That's the initial cruise altitude ... of course they're doing step climbs. Staying on FL280 for 15hours would be insane.

Check the tracking at flightaware and you can see the flight levels changing during flight

Not if the winds don't favor climbing, they would then be weight limited.
