September 8, 201312 yr Well,I made it in 18.26 hours(real time),From OR Tambo Int'l (Johannesburg SA) landing at Imagine Sim Atlanta (gate F3). My memory usage was 3.92 GB at the gate.I switched back and forth between windows and full screen about 6 or 7 times during the flight, and used the menu countless times,a real torture test! Thank's PMDG,a real winner! September 8, 201312 yr Just when I thought my two 14 hour flights and one 15 hour flight was a lot! 18 hours, nice! -Raven HarrisIntel i7 980X @ 4.43GHz | ASUS Rampage III | Corsair 6GB DDR3 2000MHz | 3 EVGA GTX280 | Corsair 1200 Watt | Intel 510 SSD (RAID 0)PMDG - 747-400/8iF | MD11/F | BAe J41 | 737NG 6/7/8/9 Hope ER/BBJ|777LR/FFlight1- Cessna Mustang
September 8, 201312 yr That flight should take less than 16 hours, at least it would in real-life! http://flightaware.com/live/flight/DAL201/history/20130907/1820Z/FAOR/KATL Regards, Jeremy Chesney
September 8, 201312 yr I think FSX logs your total time at the gate taxi etc and would account for the 18 vs 16 I'm guessing. -Raven HarrisIntel i7 980X @ 4.43GHz | ASUS Rampage III | Corsair 6GB DDR3 2000MHz | 3 EVGA GTX280 | Corsair 1200 Watt | Intel 510 SSD (RAID 0)PMDG - 747-400/8iF | MD11/F | BAe J41 | 737NG 6/7/8/9 Hope ER/BBJ|777LR/FFlight1- Cessna Mustang
September 8, 201312 yr I think FSX logs your total time at the gate taxi etc and would account for the 18 vs 16 I'm guessing. 2 hours of taxying? lol. 2 things I'd be thinking: Logging "on the ground" time from sim start, that'd then be 1h30m for the long turn+refuel to run in the Ground Ops + 20 mins taxi (15 at origin, 5 at destination) plus an extra 10 min at the end opening doors/shutting down stuff. Either that or the wind injection/weather program wasn't working and the flight took 1h30min longer due to missing tail winds or something. Not just taxi time! Plus the etc, witch would be prefilght, pax loading, whatever. -Raven HarrisIntel i7 980X @ 4.43GHz | ASUS Rampage III | Corsair 6GB DDR3 2000MHz | 3 EVGA GTX280 | Corsair 1200 Watt | Intel 510 SSD (RAID 0)PMDG - 747-400/8iF | MD11/F | BAe J41 | 737NG 6/7/8/9 Hope ER/BBJ|777LR/FFlight1- Cessna Mustang

September 8, 201312 yr Nice flight. im doing TJSJ to KLAX not a long flight but im keeping my fingers crossed. .. Image removed as image is no longer available.
September 8, 201312 yr That's a long one. I did Brisbane to Houston a few days ago so I feel the pain of long hauls. After that one, I'm done with them for a little while. Chase Barnett
September 8, 201312 yr 3.92GB of VAS used? What was your starting memory usage if I ask? I usually start at 2.3GB of VAS when all is said and done, leaving me 1.7GB of memory left to burn before an OOM event. I'm asking because I want to know if FSX has a memory/VAS leak issue, where the longer the sim runs, the higher your memory usage goes. [For instance, if you made a 19 hour sim run, would you OOM?] Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.
September 8, 201312 yr I highly recommend NMG Trading, they have a good scenery for FAOR. https://shop.nmgtrading.com/fs-scenery/fsx-scenery/nmg-johannesburg-international-airport-2012-cd-rom.html After buying you have to register to download the general scenery package and there is an update to change the name in FSX to FAOR

September 8, 201312 yr Hello! A very long haul indeed, congratulations. Interested to your VAS usage, because I am on testing phase after the purchase. Could you tell me about your settings? 1. REX Y/N and clouds size (4096, 2048...); 2. cloud distance; 3. FTX Global Y/N; 4. UTX Y/N; 5. Lod radius; 6. TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD in the FSX.cfg Do you know the VAS usage during cruise? For evalutating the VAS usage increase got by arrival airport load. Thanks. Bye. Capt. RICCARDO RIGHETTIProud customer of the PMDG 737NGX and PMDG 777X (wating for next... September 8, 201312 yr Flew out of FSDT'S KLAX, into ImagineSim's KATL. Back out of there to FSDT'S JFK. No errors, ctd or OOM. Good frames as well. Autogen slider at dense. Everything else max right. 4y/o i7 975 machine with Nvidia 680gtx 4gb card. Also using fsinn, linda, FSGRW in background. FTXG for ground cover with UTX and FSG mesh. Nary an issue.
