Alright you guys are talking me in tell me more ^_^

Addons:

modified Ray Smith CYVR

REX OD (which actually made it faster)

FSscene Global (which also made it faster)

Lots and lots of AI traffic (which are not framerate killers- I checked)

Flytampa hong kong (actually fast)

And a few other addon sceneries

---------------------------------------------

Some aircrafts such as

PMDG 737

All default aircraft

AN 124/125 By Thomas Ruth W custom soundpack

A few AI Aircraft (yes I do fly them)

Aerosim 788

PA A320 (and a few liveries)

POSKY 777 (and a few liveries)

I also bought a Saitek yoke (which just arrived) will it work for FS9?

** EDIT

Will FS9 sceneries run faster in FS9 than in FSX (i've tried Jgabberts CYVR my computer almost died!!)

Are you talking custom AI like Ultimate Traffic/World of AI or just default AI?

AI is DEFINITELY a frame rate killer if you have it turned up too high. I don't know how you've come to the conclusion that AI is not a frame rate killer but it certainly can be, specially on a low end system.

Saitek yoke will work fine with FS9.

FS9 sceneries will work faster in FS9 because FS9 itself is less resource hungry than FSX. That said, if the scenery is highly detailed it will still pull down your frames. How much depends on how powerful your system is.

Custom AI I did check it- I put the sliders up then down (left/right) no fps loss or gain......

also to add to that airline traffic is a 100 GA 20 APvehicles 10 Ships the rest 10

Oh man!

Is that no deviation from your FPS of 2.6fps?

Whilst I don't know how many AI packages you have installed, believe me and everyone else who I'm sure will chime in that AI does impact FPS.

We're trying to help you out here.

I would recommend for your current system to set all AI to 0%. Sure it may not look as pretty at the gate but it will make a difference.

I want FSX to be as realistic as posible dont you? I run my setting as low as possible without to much unrealisticness (if thats even a word)

I do - and it is possible, even with my laptop - but you have to take more money in to your hands (as everyone stated before), and if you should go for a laptop (which, again, even I who run FSX pretty well on one, do not recommend for the reasons mentioned before), and you'll have to accept even more compromises than with a decent destop PC.

Thinking that AI is no performance killer is simply not correct - I'd suggest to check that again. 100% AI can bring most PC to their knees I believe, my settings are at 30-40% (without being unrealistic at all - all the airports I tend to fly to/from are convinvingly crowded: not too few planes, but not too many either), and my FPS don't usually go below 15. For testing purposes, I'd suggest something neutral like the default Aircreation Trike - you will note a difference between 0% and 100% - but you won't if you use an addon for that purpose that alone can already bring your computer down.

Now add the resource-hungry PMDG NGX to that, and you can definitely say good bye to your frame rate!

I got 140 packages that I made manually and automatically (WOAI) that are active and 1,396 packages that I stored with 196 ai aircraft and an estimated 2,650 airlines in my aircraft folders (used more than once so UAL has 757 /767 both where counted with the 2650 aircrafts)I didn't use any freware addon aircrafts (aircrafts not meant for ai)

Ok I will retry when I get back......

Lets state the obvious. You are both correct.

For everyone that has a decent graphics card AI is a framerate killer.

But if you as in this case use integrated Intel chipset graphics, it isn't.

Simply because the integrated graphics Philippine116 uses is choking to death trying to run FSX, it cant cope.We are talking GMA4500 type, that's way, way worse than the HD3000 in Sandy bridge that's still waaay too slow. This is integrated graphics before Intel started to even care about integrated graphics performance. Even the pretty slow 2GHz Core2 Duo in his system still has plenty of spare cycles feeding the integrated graphics. Adding tons more AI traffic just add a bit more CPU load, but he still has sufficient spare cycles while the GPU is still the bottleneck that is dictating the low FPS.

I retried my traffic test, it showed a 2-4 fps difference. I also did a very low "everything" test it ran an avarage of 20 fps

Im going to play around with the sliders and see what will happen(whats making it slow).

Does anyone know where (or how) to get a building enhancer.....that seems to be the problem....
