PMDG 777 Manual Set - Buy it or print the pdf - my experience

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I will probably be banned after starting few threads today:) Well, as said before, im anxious about this bird.

Anyway, I saw a thread somewhere about the manuals, whether it would be worth of buying the Captains or the Chief Pilot set, here's my thoughts:

I thought I will give it a try and qot a quote from a local printshop, to print out the pdf's that came with the product and put it on a folder. Sure they can do that, and with also a discount price for the company I work. Sounds good, until I got the price

Printing the pdfs into a folder would cost me 1179,00 eur (without VAT) - quess am I doing that? NOT:) I know Finland is expensive country but did not thought this expensive:)

So anyone thinking that can save money by the way I tried, is not going to work. I will probably make a deal with my employer so I can print it in my office - or buy the manuals from PMDG.

The price PMDG offers in their website, seems very very very reasonable

Just my two cents

Cheers

Hi Thomas,

I agree the price from PMDG is reasonable. However If like me you live in Europe the cost of delivery is approx. $200 for the 777 manual set which costs $389. This puts buying the manual set firmly out of my reach. I would love to buy the Captains set for the 777, but with postage so steep I can't afford to. Would be great if PMDG could get a cheaper option for outside North America.

Cheers

I bought the full captains set a long time ago, 500+ USD with curier freight to Norway. A hefty sum, but good for the thousand hours of learning fun :)

Its always much nicer to read binded manuals than reading PDF:s, i think PMDG offer is much reasonable than printing all of them by some company or by yourself. Freight costs could be lower though...

I agree with you Neil, the transport cost might get qutie high, depending where you live. Im lucky enough that our company has a decent contract so the courier service would not be that high.... But still:) For me 589$ would still be much lower than the 1179 eur:)
