September 11, 201312 yr Hi there, I have the PMDG 777 and all was working fine with it until today. Just loaded up a flight and the cockpit labels around the dials and on buttons are totally blurred. Please see pics. System: Alienware Aurora-R4, Intel i7-3930k @ 3.20 GHz (overclocked to 4.3GHz), 16GB RAM, Windows 8 64-bit, Duel AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB RAM (crossfire off for FSX). Resolution 1920x1080x32, trilinear filtering, anti-aliasing off in FSX (4X and 12X with edge detect in Catalyst Control Center, also Anti-Aliasing Method is Supersampling in here). Texture resolution is very high, 3D cockpit high res ticked. I haven't changed any settings since turning my computer on and off yesterday and this has just happened. It happened once to me before with the NGX and I can't for the life of me remember how I fixed it but it's impossible to see any detail on the words. Any ideas? Pics attached. Thanks James James Long My system:Intel i7-7700k @ 5 GHz, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, GTX1080 Ti 11GB, waiting for Prepar3d v4. 1440p ASUS ROG Monitor
September 11, 201312 yr Check the option in FSX for "high res VC" or something like that, and also check that TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=4096 in the FSX.cfg Steve Caffey
September 11, 201312 yr Author Both set at that. Just entered full screen and went back to windowed modem and that seems to have fixed the issue. No idea why that would have happened though. Happy to hear any suggestions. Thanks James Long My system:Intel i7-7700k @ 5 GHz, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, GTX1080 Ti 11GB, waiting for Prepar3d v4. 1440p ASUS ROG Monitor
September 12, 201312 yr Author Help again please! It's back. And my fix from before has not helped. All settings as described before and just to reiterate, this has appeared suddenly. I had crisp textures at first and then this just appears after I loaded things yesterday James Long My system:Intel i7-7700k @ 5 GHz, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, GTX1080 Ti 11GB, waiting for Prepar3d v4. 1440p ASUS ROG Monitor
September 12, 201312 yr I was playing with my graphic settings in the sim last night . I ran into the same thing. I was attempting to raise the "FPS" by turning down the graphics. Fail.... Graphic settings back up and the cockpit looks perfectly clean and "Crisp". Try messing with you graphic settings. Cheers Erik Erik Moss
September 12, 201312 yr Author Thanks Erik, my graphics are almost all maxed out to be honest. Nothing I can really put higher. What's frustrating is that some of the gauges are nice and crisp as is the text on the displays. It's just the text around the dials. The overhead panel and pedestal is the same. Anyone at pmdg have any ideas? I can confirm it is only limited to pmdg aircraft as the airbus x is sharp and crisp. Many thanks James Long My system:Intel i7-7700k @ 5 GHz, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, GTX1080 Ti 11GB, waiting for Prepar3d v4. 1440p ASUS ROG Monitor
September 13, 201312 yr Author Any ideas anyone? Can't seem to fix this. Only blurs I have. All other textures fine James Long My system:Intel i7-7700k @ 5 GHz, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, GTX1080 Ti 11GB, waiting for Prepar3d v4. 1440p ASUS ROG Monitor
September 13, 201312 yr Try turning FXAA OFF. It can blur text sometimes. I much prefer accuracy over smoothness (old eyes).
September 13, 201312 yr I had the same thing with the PMDG 737 NGX. This is how I solved my issue http://forum.avsim.net/topic/324786-nvidia-configuration-guide-inspector-2xxxx-drivers-version-20-explanations-of-all-settings/ Just follow the steps. Hope it helps Best Regards Anthony Davis
