Sounds like you're not LOW enough. I had the same problem. I then realized Im trying to catch the "Glideslope" at 5000ft. Not Good. Ususally aircraft fly 1000ft AGL untill the "Glidslope".

The file size is 777MB.. No joke!!! 777MB

Does said "Autosave" occur on a NON regestered version of FSUIPC. If so, how does one go about disabling it?

I was playing with my graphic settings in the sim last night . I ran into the same thing. I was attempting to raise the "FPS" by turning down the graphics. Fail.... Graphic settings back up and the cockpit looks perfectly clean and "Crisp". Try messing with you graphic settings. Cheers Erik
