I was wondering if having fsx in program (86) would cause not just fsx to run funny, but would mess with connections to the joysticks and other input devices you might use?

If you have not loaded yet -  load it on the c:/ drive - just make a folder and call it fsx

Working on it now, I was just wondering if issues I've had in the past could all be the result of installing in the wrong place.

FSX runs fine in Program Files, until you try to edit something.

The location of FSX will have no affect on controllers.
