Hi Hans, I believe that the map_version number changes whenever there is an update to the satellite imagery for a map service (i.e. Bing). This could be for imagery anywhere in the world. Here is a link to the latest map_versions. It looks like only the Bing (Service 1) map_version changes. http://aviation.alla....com/tileproxy/ You may get black tiles anywhere in the world that the map service has not mapped yet. This is getting to be less and less with time. I believe Service1 (Bing/Virtual Earth) is almost always better than Service3 (Yahoo) most places in the world now. A couple of years ago it seemed to be that Service1 was better in Europe and Service3 was better in the US. John G.

September 17, 201312 yr Author Hi John - What does this exactly mean ?? "The link in the post from JohnG3 contains map versions that update in real time." Is it real time ? Why do map version 1567 load much faster than map 1592 ? - I cannot see any difference ! regards Hans
September 17, 201312 yr What I mean is that the following page will always contain the latest map version numbers: http://aviation.allanville.com/tileproxy/ I don't know why version 1567 would load faster than 1592.
September 17, 201312 yr Author Sorry for my fault. I found it was because I copied the hole new instead og just change map version number. Works fine.now. Thanks very much for your great help and greater patience. I`m always looking forward to read your good answers. regards Hans
October 16, 201312 yr Author Would you please send me a new link to the latest mapversion to tileproxy. My stupid googlecrome will not use the link above !!! regards Hans Bonde [email protected]
October 16, 201312 yr Would you please send me a new link to the latest mapversion to tileproxy. My stupid googlecrome will not use the link above !!! regards Hans Bonde [email protected] Don't think its your Chrome that's the problem site itself seems down.
October 17, 201312 yr A map update does not necessarily mean the map is updated in the area you are flying. It just means that somewhere in the world, new photos have been taken of a certain section of the globe and added to the file. You would not see changes unless you were flying in that area.
October 18, 201312 yr Would you please send me a new link to the latest mapversion to tileproxy. My stupid googlecrome will not use the link above !!! I too don't think it is a problem with Chrome, but here is the link you need: http://aviation.allanville.com/tileproxy/ If you need to cut-and-paste the link into Chrome, just right-click on the link above and select "Copy link address" then paste it into the Chrome address box at the top of the web page. Good luck, John G.

Is this the right way to write the line: [Service Example 1] cache_folder=C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\TileProxyServicesCache\cache.service1 I cannot see this direction on my computer.??? 2. An other thing. It seems that Danmark was much more clear from above in earler map versions than the latest map_version=1880 Do you think this could happen ?? Of course I could try to change the map versions in proxyuser config - but I`m just asking the specialist. regards Hans Bonde Denmark [email protected]
October 24, 201312 yr To try to answer your questions Hans: 1. The folder 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\TileProxyServicesCache\cache.service1' may not exist at the moment on your hard drive but that is where TP will put the files as it downloads so that they are cached if they are needed again. So that line looks fine. 2. Yes I would simply go into the proxyuser config file and experiment with values of map_version of less than 1880 until you find one that you are happy with. There is a lot of trial and error experimenting with Tileproxy to get the setup that works for you - don't be afraid to change values just make sure you have something you know works to go back to if your changes don't work.
