September 15, 201312 yr Hello all, quick question I have been pondering. When you install textures into fsx from REX, you choose one type of lower level cloud type and one cirrus type. When I fly around fsx with no external weather program and just using the default non real weather option from FSX, I only see these two types of clouds. What happens when I use a weather program and it calls for different clouds? Will my FSX show default clouds if they are not the clouds installed? Adam
September 15, 201312 yr Commercial Member Hi Adam, You're not simply selecting 'one' type of cloud in REX. You're selecting the most dominant cloud type within the texture structure. However, there are 16+ types of clouds installed. ALL clouds are replaced within FSX, so whether you're using a weather program or not, all clouds utilized are REX clouds. Hope this helps. September 16, 201312 yr Good question and great answer. So nice to have the good people who create these programs answer the questions directly.
September 16, 201312 yr Yep. Your right mate. Great service. @Tim - Can you give me a quick rundown on how REX interacts with AS2012? I have purchased REX E/OD and want to try using your textures with the AS201q
September 16, 201312 yr Commercial Member Thanks for your kind words folks. @Hirdy, to do this you would simply open REX, choose and install your desired texture sets in all categories, or simply choose a full 'theme'. Once textures are installed, close REX, then use your desired weather engine. Tim FuchsManaging PartnerREX SIMULATIONS website: www.rexsimulations.comsupport: www.rexaxis.com

I've been using REX for several years - but my stratus texture (along with a whole bunch of other clouds in the \texture folder is still FSX default).
September 16, 201312 yr Commercial Member Tim could answer this better than I can, but the stratus files are NOT used for stratus. The stratus clouds are baked into other crucial files we include in REX. The stratus files are left over from previous versions of FS.
