LOL....the info is sitll up on the other site that was linked. Nothing like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted!

We have no control over the other site. But we will do the right thing to do, here. And I am disappointed to see that you find that funny.

Fair enough Tom.

I just found it a little harsh to delete AND suspend the user for simply cutting and pasting something posted on another site. Delete by all means but the suspension too?

Its your site of course.

Apologies if any offence caused.

I went to that site and immediately saw that it was a document embedded in a communication covered by the BETA license. It was so obvious that to copy it, then come here and post in the X-Plane forum to provoke or troll, and obviously violate our terms about copyright information, not to mention the commonsense of not doing so, deserved more than a slap on the head. What I can't believe is that we get castigated for this response and the other site, who is hosting protected material, gets a pass apparently from the community for doing so.

Just a bit of citizen journalism in my book, but your forum, your rules.

That's pretty simplistic and ignores the violation of copyrights, protected material, BETA tester's agreement to the LMOC license, etc. etc. And fundamentally, you ignore and appear to approve this "citizen journalist's" act which puts AVSIM at risk. That kind of citizen journalism we can do without and your implicit approval of the activity isn't acceptable either. He gets a pass, and you give us a hit; "your forum, your rules".

EDIT: and you would be well advised to take a different attitude. If you allow this kind of stuff on your website, you are no journalist either.

Tom, whatever demon you make me out to be is beyond my control and imagination. I just wish you a happy monday and that life treats you well.

That's dramatic. I am not making you out to be a demon. I just don't appreciate your dismissal of our ToS' and your apparent disregard for LMOC's BETA License. Do you feel the same way about pirating?

The guy was defiantly trolling by posting it in the X-plane forum. I don't see an issue with the actual information if it was posted in the PD3 forum, copyright or not, since we all want to know the juicy details.

I wish someone would post some beta pictures !

They had better post them somewhere other than AVSIM.

I really don't see the point in having a discussion over this matter as you seem to have made up your mind allready. If my opinion isn't wanted I see no reason to share it, and as we all know, a slip of the tongue in this place gets you kicked out faster than an X-15. I'm here to have fun and be exited about a dear hobby, not to be threatened and lectured. So instead of following you down that path I'll leave you to it and wish you a nice day.

Well, you keep responding, so I have to conclude that you like poking us, or more to the point, me. "We all know"? Really? Okay, I will bite; who is we, all those banned for not following our simple terms of use? "Not threatened and lectured". No? But it is okay to lecture us, right? What drama. And the fact that you didn't answer the very pointed question speaks volumes.

Well, if the Prepar3D v2 feature list is still a secret under "NDA" why not talking about a 64-bit flight simulator you can download right now, where you're allowed to talk about any feature, where you're even allowed read the source code and modify anything you want ?
