October 6, 201312 yr I have been flying the ngx and have some shimmering and jagged lines on the instrument panels. When I zoom in quite close it gets a lot clearer but from the normal pilot view its not good. I thought with DX10 fixer this would improve but no. I am running a i7-2700, 8GB RAM, GTX680 and Windows7 64 bit. I have a LG W2453 monitor and a Samsung 40" tv. I run FSX on the Samsung. I use Nvidia Control Panel to adjust color settings. Can anyone tell me something I am missing in my fsx.cfg or NI settings that I am missing? Thanks Paul
October 6, 201312 yr Hi Paul; Would you copy your fsx.cfg as "Paul_fsx.txt", please, and attache it to a reply, using the "More Reply Options" (bottom-right corner). Also we could use a screenshot of your Inspector settings, too. October 7, 201312 yr Coupla quick pointers, Paul - about the tenth icon from the little window at the top of Inspector, is a thing that looks like a funnel. If you click on it - it will shorten up the whole Inspector page so that you only need to post just one screen. All the garbage is left out - ok! Another small forum pointer - you can also put your complete pc hardware specs in your profile! It will then appear below your avatar. Thanks. I'll get out of your hair now, and go and take a peep at the config.... Back in a while.. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
October 7, 201312 yr Your Inspector needs a tweak. Use this one, and change the DX10 Fixer "AA" to 8x CSAA. Your fsx.cfg will then read: [GRAPHICS] MultiSamplesPerPixel=4 MultiSampleQuality=8 What is your clock speed under load? I'll be back in a while with an fsx.cfg for you. I have a couple of "Domestic" things that I have to do... pj i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
October 7, 201312 yr Here you go, Paul. It looks ok - not too many changes, a few to lighten load and one for the NGX. It can go straight in. I have the old one in case "something happens" - ok! October 7, 201312 yr Author Just a question. How do I find my clock speed under load? Can I use MSI Kombuster? I have it but never used it. Paul
October 8, 201312 yr Download CoreTemp, IntelBurnTest and CPU-Z, start all three, then click on the "start" button on IBT, just running through 5 cycles. It won't take more than a few minutes, in fact to get a clock speed will take a few seconds! My only caution is (because I don't know what cooling system you have) is for you to monitor CoreTemp primarily, as she might get warmer than you want. 75C is where I stop - ok! October 8, 201312 yr Author Thanks pj for your help, but.... there seems to be no noticeable change in the ngx panel. I took a picture to show you. Paul
October 8, 201312 yr Ok, Paul. Can you switch the TV out of the picture, please and just use the 24" LG as the FSX monitor. Bear with me. If this is giving the same pic in DX9, then it's not the configs or DX10. Let's see how it looks with a pukka monitor. Thanks for your patience. pj i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
October 8, 201312 yr Author I switched FSX to the LG monitor and now it looks great, no jaggies or shudders inside and out. WOW, PMDG never looked so good. So is there any alternative to a 24" monitor and keep the great graphics? Paul
October 8, 201312 yr Yup - three of them, Paul! 1920 x 1080 x 3 = 5760 x 1080! Do you have 2 GTX 680's in your machine? i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
October 9, 201312 yr Author So would the 3d cockpit stretch around the 3 monitors? Is there a picture of this setup I could see? I have only one GTX680.
