Very very low fps in FSX @4.4Ghz i7

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've got a problem.I've tried Bojote's Tweak,Word Not Allowed's & Avsim's guide but they didn't help me.

Normally I have around about 35-70 fps on default sceneries with these addons:

FTX GLOBAL

REX

PMDG NGX,777X and Aerosoft Airbus X

But in Europe sceneries or over airspaces I have very very bad frame rates; like that.

My specs are:

Intel i7 3770K @4.4GHZ

nVidia GTX 660Ti 2GB 192bit

16 GB 1600MHz RAM

Gigabyte Z77-DS3H Motherboard

1TB HDD

120GB SSD

Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 64-bit

Also i've installed latest drivers.

Please help me and I hope it will be fix.

Best Regards.

Without posting your settings (fsx.cfg) and your Inspector settings, its going to be hard for anyone to provide advise on what to do.

Did you happen to check NickN's guide on simforum.com. Its a little more comprehensive as far as setting up your operating system and FSX than the Word Not Allowed or Avsim guide is.

Have you tried the V-sync Tweak? Made a big difference in my older and less powerful machine. Is the sim running smoothly?

As Bill said, V-sync in NV inspector and loking your frame @30 in FSX. I bet that is what your problem is, running @ Unlimited

Hi All

Same here I never use to have any issues at all with my system, but recently when I am over Europe especially England more so London area I get bad fram rates but when I fly towards scotland way its fine,  I do have ORBX England, ORBX Scotland, ORBX Wales, UTX, FTX, UK2000 Liverpool, manchester, ORBX Stapleford, ORBX Shoreham, ORBX Elstree and ORBX Southampton. But when Im over Europe, USA etc my frame rates are fine but I do more so spend more time over england and Europe.

My System

i7-3770k overclocked to 4.8Ghz

Asus ROG V Gene Z77 Motherboard

EVGA GTX680 Superclocked GPU

16Gb Corsair Dominator Platinum Ram 2100Hz

Corsair H100 Cooler

Corsair HX850 PSU

Corsair Force SSD (Windows)

OCZ Vertex 4 SSD (FSX)

WD 1 TB Harddrive

But I have a bigger problem now and again only recently started to happen ever since I bought FSX Booster 2013 and Steve FX DX10 Fixer which I installed and then unintalled them because they made no difference. When I am flying bout 1 hour into it or on IVAO FSX crashes with the "Fatal Error" sign and for the life of me I cant think why.

Any help would be great!

Cheers

FSX Booster was a waste of my money.   I didn't see any improvement over what I had done manually.    Guess I had tweaked it all I could.     Steve's DX10 Fixer did however improve my world quite a bit and fixed all my payware airports and planes as advertised and all the night lighting.

Based on your specs, your PC should be chewing up FSX.    I have slightly higher specs with a slower OC speed and I am pegged 30 FPS most of the time unless I turned on heavy AI traffic then things start to ache.    I have to admit, I have never flown over Europe and probably never will so I don't know what is going on over there.    As for the Fatal Error, can you use AppCrashView and post what kind of crash it is?   That goes a long way toward starting the journey toward crash free flying.   I don't crash anymore on my flights anywhere in the US (so far).   I may be able to help with that aspect at least.

I can say that I got my best smoothest results by letting FSX run unlimited on frames then clamping it down in the Nvida Inspector to 1/2 Refresh.

The Bjote stuff is getting outdated especially for that video card. Do yourself a favor, delete your FSX.cfg and start over. Don't use that FSX booster at all.  Add the highmem fix, turn  off buffer pools, turn on DX 10 and reinstall the DX10 fixer, set FPS to unlimited and away you go .  Even Heathrow with ORBX  England will be fine. I don't really believe in the limited FPS as forcing this can cause you to actually get 1/2 of what you set in certain situations.

EDIT: Using DX10 isn't about having "better" graphics , it's about giving you more breathing room with your VAS and thus less chance of running out of memory. Especially with all the payware you have.

My rig is nearly the same as yours and I run at 4.4Ghz on the C100 also. I did have that EVGA superclocked as well ( now in the kids PC) before I got the TITAN. It's a factory overclocked card and 90% of the time it works great until I either play Battlefield or FSX then you can get a random crash to desktop( I'm not talking an FSX crash, more of a hard crash with a Fatal Error). To correct this just put it to stock clocks with EVGA precision ( I forget what they are for a stock 680 but thats easy enough to find on google) Overclocking a modern video card for FSX really has very a tiny impact with a much increased chance for crashes.

Hi guys Thanks for the advice, Ive never deleted or edited the fsx.cfg file before so is there any step by step way of doing this? Cheers

Just get HT off, and HIMEMFIX, not more is really needed, maybe an affinitymask of 14 and done.

Didn't change visibly things :(

Boeing777_Banner_Pilot.jpg

set all traffic to 0, it's a FPS killer.

fftf, remove that line, no need for it. I've never seen it work

turn off ht in the bios and change affinity mask to match your new cores

tbm set to 40 and in a new line right below TextureMaxLoad=30

texture_max_load (different than above) set to 4096

Also yes turn off AI to first get a good stable base.

Here is my config is anyone can help me get the best fps, I dont really understand that much this side of things:
