October 25, 201312 yr I loved my X52, but it simply took up too much space for me, I went with a Cyborg X which does more or less what the X52 did minus the throttle detent. I assigned a button to the "throttle reduce gradually" function for reverse. Also, the Cyborg as two throttles, individually assignable. Great for twins, or great for throttle+prop pitch or whatnot. My old X52 is in a cupboard somewhere, collecting dust as a backup. So I'd consider getting a yoke AND the Cyborg X, which is a lot cheaper than the X52.
October 29, 201312 yr Hey guys, My G940 went down the drain when my throttle started to fail horribly, I got a refund and now I'm at the crossroads.. again.. How is the yoke? Is it as big as the pictures on the internet make it look like or is it smaller? I'm asking because I'd need to move it out of the way when not flying. Same for the throttle. Oh and about the throttle, the knobs are removable on the one that comes with the yoke right? Can you assign flaps and spoilers to the throttles axes? How does the yoke feel? Is it reliable (as in durable)? I'm pretty scared of the joystick market after my G940 failed.. I'm on the edge of buying either the X52 Pro or the Saitek Yoke.. just not sure yet. The X52 would mean a very versatile stick while the the yoke would make Boeings feel awesome and everything else a bit more awkward. I'm decided on getting the Saitek Combat Pedals, since I've not seen bad reviews much, it's just that i'm really uncertain between these two controllers. Help is appreciated! John The saitek yoke has some binding issues as well as pitch control issues. Try a ch yoke I had mine for 8 years and it served me well till a shock took it out last week. I liked it so much I ordered a new one and the quality is just as good as before. right now newegg has them for $95 ATP MEL,CFI,CFII,MEI. Type Ratings B-737, ERJ-190,ERJ-170
October 29, 201312 yr Just a word to the group: Before you throw away a Saitek throttle, try taking the cover off the unit and using a little tuner cleaner(available at Radio Shack) on the variable resistor. Work the lever back and forth. My well-used throttle became stable again. Keep up the good work!
