Thoughts on Feelthere's new ERJ?

Hi there, does anyone have experience with the new ERJ by feelthere yet? I read there forum and have heard mixed things with regards to gauge smoothness and some weird FPS cycling.I don't really mind "slower" fps but I'm not a big fan of gauges that make FPS go down to 10 FPS for a brief second and then go back up to 25. Any experiences about the refresh rate and performance in general would be greatly appreciated. Please, this is absolutely not meant in a critical way, just wanting to hear some objective opinions. Thanks in advance,Petehttp://members.aol.com/pzsoulman/myhomepage/logo.gifAMD64-3400,1GB/2700DDRAM,WinXP(SP2),DirectX9.0c,Geforce6800(128MB)(Det.66.81), CH Yoke/Pedals

its very good ( better then the CRJ ) but I have a problem with FPS! Put it this way, I get 50fps in the PMDG737 but I'm only getting around 15 to 20 in the ERJ. I tried there tutorial flight from LAX to SFO and I was only getting 10fps. I don't understand why they do tutorial flights from airports that take hard hits on FPS!

I've just begun to get acquainted with the AC. I would put it on par with CRJ in terms of performance - a pretty hefty hit - slightly worse for me than the F1 ATR or PMDG 737NG. (3.0 Gig P4, 1MB RAM, twin 80Gig RAID HDs, ATI 9700Pro). There is one available function to ease frame rates based on fonts and aliasing gauges.I also personally feel the manual is a bit weak. Rather than one comprehensive manual it is broken into 14 pdf files. The manual on "FIRST FLIGHT" is nothing more than an example on programming the FMS for a flight. For the actual flight it refers you back to the 12 page Quick Start pdf which is a very brief over view of most systems, but does not cover the actual flight.I do not regret the purchase at all, however. I do feel it is very well done and a joy to fly. I have an issue with the speed brakes (my assigned axis will not work at all and there is some "fluttering" of the inboard panel that deploys on landing). I have not experienced the varying FPS, although it definitely lends itself towards middle / middle left sliders.Joe LorencVice President, Carolina Operations, VN7 Networkhttp://www.vn7network.com/

A couple of outstanding bugs, soon to be fixed, but still, a great job by FeelThere.I'm having no performance issues, but, I disabled the gauge antialiasing, etc., before I even ran it initially...looks fine to me without, and I guess those things aren't as important to me as maintaining my FPS lock.If you'd rather not deal with the few issues that are outstanding, I'd recommend waiting a bit until they release a SP. The big one for me, is a problem with the panel not updating (freezing) whenever another window/program has focus, like the kneeboard, or ActiveSky's ActiveRadar. This also includes SquawkBox and the FS9 chat window, and since I fly 90% on VATSIM, well...I just hope they can fix it.Other than that, it is really an excellent package.

I have one problem with it. The overhead panel has no backround bitmap and of the switches are messed up, like my smoking sign gauge displays a "speedbrake" icon when its on.Anyone have this problem??ThanksBrianBash :-wave

What resolution are you running ?If higher that 1280x, you will have trouble with the overhead. They are aware of this, and a fix is coming.

Hi; I have to say that the Feelthere ERJ 145 is outstanding. I admit that I have to use the "2D panel only" mode and turn off panel anti-aliasing, then I get above 21 FPS (I'm locked at 21 FPS) 2.8 GHz P4, Ti 4200, 512 MB. For example, I just completed a flight from Cheyene to Denver, snowing, and with Ultimate Traffic AI. The aircraft performed smooth as silk and put a big smile on my face. The graphics, avionics, systems detail , and the flight dynamics are all outstanding. This plane is every bit as good as my recent Flight1 ATR-72 purchase. I have to agree that the documentation situation is not as good as it should be. Information is spread all over the place among various documents. We need one comprehensive document that pulls everything together. I think that anyone who likes regional aircraft will not be dissappointed with this one.

Hi again, just wanted to thank everybody for posting their opinions, I just purchased it and hope everything will work fine.I'll report back, thanks again,Petehttp://members.aol.com/pzsoulman/myhomepage/logo.gifAMD64-3400,1GB/2700DDRAM,WinXP(SP2),DirectX9.0c,Geforce6800(128MB)(Det.66.81), CH Yoke/Pedals

Is the documentation any better with the ERJ vs. the CRJ. I thought that given the price for the CRJ the documentation was limited.Kevin

The main issue right now for me, is the fps. It's really hardware demanding.Daniel
