Yes, I know there has been a thread about the product already but I was surprised that the release of Misty Fjords didn't make it to the front page - or did I miss it? Everything else seems to be announced there.Or is it the case that you people at Avsim Towers weren't given the news item by the sellers?

A better question would be:Why should Avsim announce any Payware product which will generate Profits and Dollars for the Developer and nothing for Avsim?Maybe the developers should pay Avsim to advertise on the front page.Seems Fair to me.Then again, if I was a developer, wouldn't it be great if I could simply rely on other sites to advertise my PAYWARE product on their front page for nothing?But of course, no paywere developer would think that way would they? I have a theory but I'll not mention it to prevent a flamewar.Let's just say it's to do with personal relations between some people here and some at FSAddon.Whether a press release was offered and not published or none was offered I don't know nor do I care.

Surely, if that were the case, then they should never advertise any product that is not via the Avsim store or by a related company?Personally, I think it would have been nice to have seen at least a notification that it was released. I suspect I know why it was not, and that is Avsim's choice, as is anything that goes up on the front page.Ian P.

They are also getting a lot for free press throughout the forums here, and not just the general one.Their are posts in the BFU forums, Screenshot, and general avaiation forums and may be others as well.Seems like pretty good FREE marketing to me.Regards,Joe

If users like a product, they are going to show it to other like minded people. If they think it is good value, they will say so. If other people attack for reasons they think are invalid, they will defend it.Word of mouth is the best marketing tool in the world. How do you achieve it? Make a good product. There's a lesson in there for a few developers I could name.Ian P.

I noticed the words of the original poster.using "You people at Avsim Towers"Why not just shoot a message to someone here, and ask them.Why is this supposedly objective bystander concerned about whether a product gets front page visibility or not.1)Does the original author have any conflict of interest we should be aware of?2)Are they a beta tester for the payware developer?3)Did they receive a free copy of the product?4)Do they receive a percentage of sales for the product?5)Has this person gone to every simming website to ask why it is not on their front page as well, or just this one? Surely, if this person feels a need for an explanation, we can equally ask them if a conflcit exists?Regards,Joe
