October 31, 201312 yr Steve will be there next Summer, but I decided to get there before him! Flying down to Talkeetna. I have the airport in sight. I rarely take a look at the fuel level because it is always in front of me on the HUD. But, since I was panning around the cockpit, I took a glance. What a gorgeous gauge! On Short Final. And parked in front of the tower! Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
October 31, 201312 yr Another airport in Flight with nice details. I know that Luis likes to fly in season, it's more realistic. This year it seems that the snow and river ice are arriving a little later than normal. Tough sledding so far!
November 1, 201312 yr Author You're right. My problem is that I take this much too seriously - I am a "serious simmer". I always set real time, adjust the weather for the correct winds, use checklists and flaps, and do my patterns. I even fly procedure turns. And how many of the self-proclaimed serious simmers even know what that is? But, the downside is that I never fly at dawn, in the A.M., evening, or at night. So, from now on, I shall set the correct date, but keep the time from when I last shutdown. This way, I shall get to fly at all times of the day. Although I am tempted to only fly in the Summer months. Ah! if only I weren't such a serious simmer... Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
November 1, 201312 yr Its the same as last year. No snow on the ground and we getting into November. Just hope there isn't a cold snap like last year. Brian Thibodeaux | B747-400/8, C-130 Flight Engineer, CFI, Type Rated: BE190, DC-9 (MD-80), B747-400 My Liveries
