November 1, 201312 yr For some reason when I give a select command A instruction, the FO says he has selected it, but when I look a few moments later I notice it is not on. This has messed my departure up a few times? J u l ia n D i a m a n d i s
November 2, 201312 yr Commercial Member Hi Julian, Are you sure the conditions were met for the autopilot to even engage? Try turning on the autopilot manually. I suspect you didn't meet the necessary conditions for the autopilot to engage. Maybe you were applying pressure to the joystick? Best, B. November 2, 201312 yr This usually happens to me. The autopilot always turns off after takeoff. You need t fly manually for a few seconds before you can engage the AP.
November 2, 201312 yr Author Maybe you were applying pressure to the joystick? It should engage if I am hand flying. What do I do let go of the controls? I am well over 2000f at times. It does engage every time if I press it. So it seems to be a problem with FS2Crew. J u l ia n D i a m a n d i s

So it seems to be a problem with FS2Crew. All FSCrew does is send a signal via the SDK to turn on the autopilot. It's very simple. You're probably applying some pressure on the joystick. Remember the joystick needs to be centered (no pressure) before the autopilot will engage. It's like this in the real 737. I think there may be an option in PMDG NGX to disable this realism feature. November 4, 201312 yr Correct, if you run through the FMC you will find the options for "Realistic AP" or not, the difference being you can engage the AP when your applying pressure to the control column, or not. - - Tommy - -
November 4, 201312 yr "It should engage if I am hand flying. What do I do let go of the controls?" Try to trim the plane out so no pressure is needed(hands off) to fly in direction you are going,Then engage the AP.
November 4, 201312 yr Author Try to trim the plane out so no pressure is needed(hands off) to fly in direction you are going,Then engage the AP. Ok well point taken, fly straight before engaging. If that is how the real thing works I will stick with it. Although I have never noticed this when flying without FS2Crew. Why is he confirming it is on when it is not? J u l ia n D i a m a n d i s
November 4, 201312 yr Commercial Member Why is he confirming it is on when it is not? The FO is smart... but he's still not as smart as a real human being :-) B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
