Very dim display on Saitek Pro Auto Pilot

Featured Replies

G'day everybody. I have just upgraded my GPU from a GTX680 to a GTX780 SOC'd. Now the display on my Saitek Pro Flight Auto Pilot is very dim. I use a Manhatten powered USB hub and have not got a clue where to look to try and solve this problem. All help very much appreciated.

Thanks and cheers, Mac

Simple first, unplug all usb connectors from the usb hub except for the one for the AP panel. The first thought is the usb hub is over loaded and can't provide the required power.

Just a thought.

I can't see how changing the video card could impact the panel lighting on the AP. Particularly, when you are using a separate power supply through the usb hub.

Good Luck......

Danny

I would also check the output voltage from the hub's power supply to your hub...if the voltage is low (or the power supply has failed completely) the PC's USB port may be trying to power the hub.

G'day gentlemen, many thanks for your input.

Danny: I only have the three USB cables from the Saitek, plus a keyboard, mouse and WiFi dongle plugged into the hub. That has been the case without a problem for the last two years. I have however followed your instructions but I am afraid the fault remains.

Bob: You make a good point. I will drag the multi meter out and check the supply voltage to the hub. We both know that faults of this sort can often be "coincidental damage". The worst thing that can happen now is that the fault disappears. LOL

Cheers, Mac

Saitek doesn't play well with USB 3.0, they need to be plugged into USB 2.0

Thank you Ray, I had not realised that before. I shall change to USB 2.0. Does this also apply if I am using the SPAD Drivers?

I have not seen them work properly with USB 3.0 with either driver. I only use powered 2.0 hubs and SPAD drivers. I have all the Saitek devices.
