November 24, 201312 yr If I ever decide to install it, after having DX10 fixer working beautifully as it is right now, will I have to take care with some settings in particular? November 24, 201312 yr The basic part of Global should have no effect on your sliders. It is just a simple texture replacement, and is a 1 for 1 swap with the default textures. It is the lights that might have some effect. I am not sure since I am still using DX9, and have never used 10. Hopefully someone with a little more experience with DX10 can comment. Ryan L.
November 25, 201312 yr Not really sure what it is doing but here is what I saw with FTX Global & DX10 Fixer. Disabled in Fixer Effects 470 Unconverted lights 21 Converted effects 0 Restored effects 277 Enabled in Fixer Effects 470 Unconverted lights 277 converted effects 277 restored effects 0 If I uncheck Vector Road Lights in FTX, there is a very noticeable effect in the sim as you would expect. I do not have Michael Swannick’s lights installed or any other light fix.
November 25, 201312 yr Commercial Member The ftx global lights are not implemented as effects, that is the reason for their high performance, however the lights appear as black squares in dx10! Dx10SF automatically recognises them and fixes them for you. So you don't need to do anything, it all just works! My FSX Analysis Blog
