November 26, 201312 yr Hi all, Just a quick one; can anyone please tell me how to make the P3D2 ATC window transparent? Thanks all
November 26, 201312 yr I wonder if you can't get help at the P3D support forum? http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=vforum&g=7.0 Spirit
November 26, 201312 yr Wait for a point release when they turn it back on.. We disabled it in 1.x because of wpf performance issues in xp and win7 with Aero disabled. I believe it is still disabled since Win7 allows Aero to be disabled. That said, I would suggest everyone enable Aero in Win7 as we are now seeing similar performance issues with our transparent context menu windows. Now that XP support is no longer an issue we should be able to detect if Aero is enabled and bring transparency back. Hopefully this will be enabled in a point release. April 23, 201412 yr Point release? We disabled it in 1.x? Don't understand that reply. I waited for the transparent atc window in v2.2. It was not addressed. People do not want to disable the ATC window. They just want it to be transparent as in MS version of flight simulator. It is hard to be training students night flying procedures and a sharp white popup windows covers gauges and destroys any night vision they may have adjusted too. Simulating ATC is a must for student pilots. So the feature is valuable. I just don't understand why the Prepar3D developers and engineers will not address this training problem. As I understand things, the ACES team now work for or with Lockheed-Martin for Prepar3D. If they developed FS9, FSX or any other MS simulator why can't they use that knowledge and apply it to P3D? I just get grumpy when I see so many posts in the forums (especially P3D) about this problem and it is not addressed. And some wise &@($* made a statement to buy another monitor and run the atc on that monitor. Its just unbelievable. Steve Wagner
April 23, 201412 yr Now that XP support is no longer an issue we should be able to detect if Aero is enabled and bring transparency back Should be in the next point release I guess, I wonder what other issues still exist because of the need to support XP. Now without having to code around that legacy stuff they may have even more freedom to move the codebase forward
