Worth upgrade after 2 years?

Featured Replies

I bought my current system 2 years ago from Velocity Micro. At that point my previous system was 5 years old and the deal was good. Given the changes in technology in the last 2 years, any benefit to upgrading again? Anything you folks would recommend? This is the time of year to find deals.

Here is what I have. I'm running two SATA HDDs, both 7,200 RPM. One is 1TB (with the OS and swap file) and the other is 2TB (with FSX and add ons).

Nobody has any thoughts? I take that as passive advice to stand pat. Assuming if no one has a recommendation that it means it's too early to upgrade.

Looks solid to me. I'm still going on a i5 2500K @ 4.4ghz, gtx 570 8 GB ram.

FSX is a little slow with heavy addons/ heavy scenery and wx but it works for me.

For you maybe get a new SSD to improve load times?

Thanks Ryan.   Been considering an SSD, just not sure if the cost/benefit is worth it.
