Any idea what these black blocks are?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Latest FTX global installed and flying over Norway I see these black blocks where I think there should be houses / buildings. I've attached a picture.

Turn off DX10 Preview, restart FSX, black boxes gone.

I´m not exactly sure what kind of black boxes you have, but there might be two reasons for this:

- You are missing some textures (they will stay black all the time) -> you might want to d/l and install that scenery again

- Your sim needs more time to load textures (the black boxes will turn to normal textures if you wait patiently) -> there is too much details for your PC -> upgrade your hardware or turn details etc down in your sim

hope this helps

Or I would if someone could tell me how to add a pic!

Try this as it will help you narrow down the texture and the library. Add this to your fsx.cfg under [scenery]

Think it may be a DX10 incompatibility with FTX Global problem.
