January 11, 201412 yr The new update has been released and this one also applies to the C172: it has the longest list of fixes. One fixed General item was this: "Corrected save file names for p3dv2" So... they are slowly beginning to support P32D v2...?! ^_^ EDIT Installed the update... The installer is P3D v2 ready! Nice!
January 11, 201412 yr Cool! I've been dying to get Accufeel in P3D. Let's hope A2A is game. Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!
January 11, 201412 yr I *thought* Accu-feel would work in P3D, but that you had to copy the .DLL file and manually edit DLL.XML to get it going? I haven't tried that as of yet, so that's why I used *thought*.
January 11, 201412 yr Too much work... I want my payware to install with a few mouse clicks only. Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!
January 11, 201412 yr Check the compatibility list. Accu-feel installed direct, no copying of dlls for me, as Rob Ainscough said, and works perfectly OK. No "too much work" required ;-) Have a look at the A2A forum also . .
January 12, 201412 yr So, this would be for the J3 also? No, the core Accusim updates are a more recent development and only cover the Spitfire, P-40, P-51 (military and civilian) and the Cessna 172. Earlier titles (Boeing 377, B-17 and J3) have their own self-contained Accusim modules that aren't affected by the core updates. From what I can gather, people are having mixed results getting the earlier titles running in P3D2 - the B-17 and J3 seem to be doing pretty well but the 377 is reported to have problems with the cold start setting. I haven't tried any of them myself - my P3D2 is back to default for the moment, and may stay that way until the patch - so I'm only reporting what I've heard. Perhaps others can chime in with hands-on experience. Alan Ampolsk"Ah, Paula, they are firing at me!"-- Saint-Exupery
January 12, 201412 yr 3D RXP unit now available in the Civil P-51 with latest core update. Now you really have an awesome V-12 powered GA single LOL. "The knack of flying is learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." - Douglas Adams Tejon 'TJ' Stanley
January 12, 201412 yr I had a problem with the core 1.6 update ... it brought back to life a bug I thought I had solve -- the getting "stuck" and can't move bug. I posted over at A2A, I was able to work around the issue: 1. Turn off crash detection 2. Apply 50 throttle (engine is started) 3. Bring up maps and set altitude 4 ft higher than whatever it currently reads 4. Get ready ... sudden acceleration (and you make go thru whatever is in front of you) so you'll have taxi back to position 5. Very important part, save the flight. After I did this, the aircraft was not "stuck" any more even when I don't load that saved flight and start new. So sort of "initial" state bug I guess, not really sure? Rob On a side note: the A2A C-172 has brought me back to the land of OOMs even after only 15-20 minutes flying time. Think I'm going to do some XP10 64bit for a while until LM release a patch - I think this release was perhaps a little pre-mature, 3rd party products appear impact it pretty significantly.
January 12, 201412 yr But the original A2A C172 .exe doesnt install to P3D V2, right? Not automatically, but if you create a dummy FSX.exe in the Prepar3D v2 folder (I copied the Prepar3d.exe and renamed it to FSX.exe) and then point the installer to the Prepar3D folder, the C172 will install without any problems. The only two 'problems' I've encountered so far is that you can turn some lights on while the battery is off (no problem for me at all) and you have to turn of MipMaps for VC in P3D otherwise the sim will lock up when you change the size of the window or screenmode (also no problem for me at all). Other than that she's perfectly fine and a joy to fly in P3D v2.
January 12, 201412 yr sorry, I'm on a different time. Seems one or two people mixing Accu Sim with Accu Feel. My reply was aimed at the query on Accu-Feel which does install no problems straight off, and works. The C172 and others are as Jeroen says installed with a dummy fsx.exe. But they are Accu-sim of course. Going to have to try the C172 myself. FWIW I have no OOM after installing the 4Gb fix to P3D - I may be lucky. I also have LM's .cfg tweaks and no swap file problems as SSDs. Getting swap files right did give OOM initially in FSX till I did the 4Gb fix there and played with swap files
