Time to buy ... ask the pros

As everyone here is so knowledgeable, I decided to get advice before buying. The array of material out there is staggering and confusing.

First, where to buy? The only store I know is Flight1.com. How does that sound?

Two, My default FSX install is a little lonely.I want everything that could be included in traffic. Now I hear there are two major commercial releases, but if I remember, there are ways to do the exact same thing for free. I also thought it was more expandable that way too. Any help or suggestions would be great!

Thanks,

Steve

I use (Just Flight) depending upon product availability (AXE, Q400), PMDG store for their products, and The FS Store for Orbx and REX. I try to keep it as simple as possible.

Flight1, IMHO, has a awful site presentation and is pretty unintuitive. The inability to redownload your products from them without jumping through hoops is disconcerting and frustrating. In fact, the only product I have from their storefront is EZDok, and that's simply becasue it isn't sold anywhere else.

I DIDN'T KNOW. I am so sorry.

No apologies necessary. Most folks do overlook the AVSIM Market, and do not realize that by purchasing there, they are helping to pay bandwidth and upgrades to hardware and software.

As far as flight1.com is concerned, they offer a 30-day-money-back guarantee. Now, how does that sound, if someone's confused by the sheer number of addons, or if he thinks a product doesn't suit him so well and he'd like to return it?

A site not yet mentioned which can be attractive at times (Tuesdays, in particular ) is pcaviator.com.

But my true heartfelt recommendation is to buy from the developers' shops as often as possible: Your money goes straight to the people who bring so much joy into your flightsimmer's life. 100% of your hard-earned money. No less. No commissions for publishers and/or retailers.

("Tom's software store" () doesn't sound too bad, either, admittedly ... B))
