February 5, 201412 yr Hi everyone, Just wanted to share my journey from Dubai to Hong Kong with an Emirates A380. I flew the route over the weekend, a journey of roughly 7 hours 30 minutes. As always, the flight was done in real time with Active Sky providing the weather and FSRealTime keeping things synced. Enjoy! Parked at Gate D08 as EK380 (What an appropriate flight number!) No prizes for guessing the dominant carrier Pushing back and we're finally on our way on this beautiful day Taxiing to the active. These massive wings with massive droop are just as amazing in real life. Lining up as a company 77W heads off to London Powerful rotation Such a slow climber Cruising @FL350 somewhere near the Iranian-Pakistani border Now we're flying over Northern India Dusk arrives as we're flying over Myanmar Wishing the sun goodbye Almost dark soon Completely dark now as we near the top of descent Executing a turn We've been given clearance to land on runway 7L. Everything down and we are in for a treat as a China Airlines A330 is landing on 7R. Parallel landings are always fun to see in FS. Seems to be quite a line on 7R And shortly after touchdown! Heading to our gate Parked at the gate. Thank you for joining me and hope you liked.
February 5, 201412 yr That is awesome! So its ASN, FlyTampa Dubai. Is that the Project Airbus 380? Is that an Addon Airport for Hong Kong? What is FSRealTime and what does it do? 7.5 hours that's awesome. I do 2 to 2.5 in the NGX occasionally but 7.5!!!
February 5, 201412 yr Author That is awesome! Thanks! I should probably mention this is all FS9. It's Active Sky Evolution + FlyTampa Dubai + Project Airbus A380 + Shockwave 3D Lights along with ImagineSim's Hong Kong scenery. It can be purchased at SimMarket or if you want further information, head on to the developers website: http://www.imaginesim.com/vhhh01.htm FSRealTime is a great little utility and if you're into flying airliners, it's an absolute must have. It keeps the time zone transition in FS in check. More information (and a better explanation) about FSRealTime can be found at the developers website: http://www.3dsoftworks.net/products/fsrealtime/purchase.asp As for flights, I've done ultra long haul flights before, so this 7½ hour hop is not really anything special. My personal longest flight flown in FS clocked in at just over 16 hours in an Air Canada 77W from Vancouver to Sydney. That's not an experience I'd like to repeat unless I really feel like trumping my own record. I enjoy flying long haul routes simply because I enjoy viewing the terrain changing and because I've always had a fascination with commercial aviation in general. It's also nice to have lots of AI installed so that I'm never alone in the sky and always have something to spot and look out for as I'm tootling along. Thanks for looking.
February 5, 201412 yr Cyanide, that's a bitter pill! I currently have a thread running about a Heading gauge issue on a panel for this Project Airbus A-380. What panel are you using and can you supply screenshots of it?
