February 5, 201412 yr Hey guys, I have a question (Apologies for the repetition if this has been brought up before) I have a 250GB Samsung SSD sitting right here that I would like to install... Currently, I am running two 500GB Seagate Barracudas; one has Windows on it and the other is running FSX solely. So my question: Would I see the most performance gains for FSX if I installed FSX on the SSD, or if I install Windows on the SSD. (I know that FSX reads and writes to the system drive as well for certain functions.) Thanks! Robert Shepherd

Or even better put Windows on one SSD and FSX on another. Wes Meyer
February 5, 201412 yr The least disruptive way to utilize your SSD, is to put FSX on it (copy over).. which is what I did.. If you like re-installing Windows, you may get more bang for your buck.. Either way, you are not going to increase the performance of FSX, only decrease load times, increase smoothness, and it is a lot quieter  Bert
February 6, 201412 yr Commercial Member Putting Windows and your frequently used applications (browser etc) on the SSD is going to give you the better experience overall with your computer I think. The SSD will make no difference in FSX aside from initial load time. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
February 6, 201412 yr Author Thanks Ryan, That's kind of what I thought (and was actually hoping you'd catch this, Ryan. I know you guys play around with many different hardware configs) System on SSD it is then... Robert Shepherd
