February 9, 201412 yr I've seen references everywhere to Flight Idle, but I can't find which value is this? Is this an EPR, N1, N2 or fuel flow value? Or is just a throttle position (I can't recall seeing any marking in the pedestal). I've seen it's around 50-55%N1 for the 727, but which value is for the 732? February 10, 201412 yr For flight idle just pull the throttles back to the stops. N1 values will be different dependent on your altitude... the higher you are the higher the idle N1 will be. There is a consideration that you must have enough engine bleed to power the aircon packs , but what that number is is beyond me. Peter Schluter
February 10, 201412 yr As I know, EPR must be not less than 1.21 if Engine or Wing Anti Ice is activated. Regards, Sebastian
February 10, 201412 yr Author Thank you all. Now I got another question: in the Tinmouse, cruise is at 320 knots/M 0.74 AFAIK. For descent, should I let airspeed drop to any value before descending? Which value? February 10, 201412 yr I usually cruise at 0.78/0.80 Descent, like most aircraft should be done at cruise Mach speed , changing to IAS 280-320 when appropriate (FL280-300). Peter Schluter
May 31, 201412 yr As I know, EPR must be not less than 1.21 if Engine or Wing Anti Ice is activated. Regards, Sebastian EPR is irrelevant for Eng-Wing Anti-Ice in descent keep N1 above 55% for use of anti-ice. I usually cruise at 0.78/0.80 Descent, like most aircraft should be done at cruise Mach speed , changing to IAS 280-320 when appropriate (FL280-300). normal econ cruise is .72 climb and descent is 250-280/.70 you can achieve a .72 with 2800lbs per engine Gustavo Rodrigues - Brazil
