February 16, 201412 yr Hi all. Unfortunately I decided to buy a new (GREAT) PC with W8.1 64 bit OS and I am experiencing some problems with my favorite aircraft (Airbus A320 X Extended.) One of these is related to controller systems Saitek X52, Pro Flight Yoke System and Rudder Pedal. After 5-10 minutes, FSX does not recognize them and they disappeared from the FSX Control Options. I just can read my MOUSE as the only flight controller. To get them work, I have to turn off UAC rights or enable and quickly unable them; unfortunately, after a few minutes again, FSX does not see them and I have to repeat the process each time. I already installed the new official drivers from Saitek but I cannot fix this bug. Another problem, perhaps connected to the first, is the throttle and the speed. I was flying with Airbus A320 X Extended and on cruise at FL350, and in a bit the word SPEED disappear from the ND and the speed dropped to 200 knots. Even if I tried to move my throttle up and down or turn off AP, nothing happened. It is a shame because I did not have those bugs with W7 64 bit OS. Can anyone help me to fix? Do I have to get back to W7 OS? Thank you Raffaele. Raffaele
February 16, 201412 yr I wouldn't use saitek drivers at all uninstall them, and get FSUIPC registered version calibrate all controls thought that. Cheers Wayne. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD http://fs2crew.com/banners/Banner_FS2Crew_MJC_Supporter.png Wayne HART
February 16, 201412 yr Author Thank you. I'll try to do it even if I don't have any idea about how "to do" it..... I have to read some post or watch some videos tutorials. Oh yes I know FSUIPC! But I have never bought it. Raffaele Raffaele
February 20, 201412 yr It's great and once you get around the learning curve it's easy, if you need a hand with it PM me we can skype or something to get you setup. Buy registered version. Simmarket sell it. Wayne Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD http://fs2crew.com/banners/Banner_FS2Crew_MJC_Supporter.png Wayne HART
February 20, 201412 yr OK, based on the fact your controls are "going to sleep" I would check your USB settings in your BIOS and Windows to check nothing is set to go into a power saving mode. Are you using a hub? Is it powered? Any additional information would be great, while I may be wrong I do not think this is something FSUIPC will fix. FSUIPC is a phenomenal program and I would highly recommend it but I do not think it is going to solve FSX losing your controllers, it sounds like an OS or bios thing. Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
February 28, 201412 yr This is a known problem with ALL controllers using FSX and Prepar3d with Windows 8 and 8.1. There are several Microsoft Technet requests, but so far no action from MS that has solved the issue. Setting the USB settings to not sleep does not fix the problem. The only way to circumvent the issue is to use the registered version of FSUIPC to have it send the control inputs as mentioned in a couple of replies. If you are looking for a good guide to setup FSUIPC and your controllers, here's one: http://fsuipc.simflight.com/beta/SIMSAMURAI+FSUIPC+TUTORIAL.pdf Philip Manhart :American Flag: - "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." ~ Plato
May 2, 201412 yr If you use FSUIPC I would commend LINDA (http://fs-linda.com) for the AirbusX. Ofcause it is a Freeware...

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD Interesting. Although I am using win7 64 I have recently purchased the pro flight kit. I have no issues except 1) When using the foot brakes on the pedals the yoke moves around - PMDG 737. Slight movement on the yolk fixes the yolk position 2) Always when I am just about to establish on the final base turn and arm approach the yoke suddenly flips the plane off to the left in a steep dive. No idea why but will try uninstalling the drivers. I have set the entire system up with FSUIPC but maybe there is a conflict somewhere. I have used the search before asking....honest!! May 2, 201412 yr goosenka, Have you disabled the controllers within the sim? It sounds like FSUIPC and the built-in sim inputs are conflicting. Philip Manhart :American Flag: - "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." ~ Plato
May 3, 201412 yr goosenka, Have you disabled the controllers within the sim? It sounds like FSUIPC and the built-in sim inputs are conflicting. Morning. No I haven't disabled the controllers but will have a play this morning. That does make logical sense actually but sadly didn't occur to me. Thanks again and I will report back. May 3, 201412 yr Well I'd put a pot of money on betting that's the problem then. Funny thing this international flight simulation hobby, it's just about 2300 here... :American Flag: Philip Manhart :American Flag: - "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." ~ Plato
May 3, 201412 yr Commercial Member To get them work, I have to turn off UAC rights or enable and quickly unable them; Sounds like a security/permissions issue rather than hardware or drivers. I have not seen any dropping of joysticks other than with FSX running out of resources - you can try this at home by setting LOD_RADIUS to a silly number like 13, (however too high and FSX won't run, just high enough and you'll pause to check your mail, go back to FSX and find no controls!). The most reliable systems have FSX installed into the default location, and [for this location (FSX program files folder) write and modify permissions are added to the Users group]. Once that is done then default installs of all addons can take place. Usually if something goes wrong during an installation of software it's when I ask it to locate somewhere else. Back to "turn off UAC rights" and security/permissions issues. Right clicking on .exe files and choosing "Run As Admin" and altering UAC can cause all kinds of problems. There are posts around whereby "Taking Ownership" of folders has improved performance. What this means is an installation was done with the wrong security setup and accessing these files now has a security overhead. Obviously all of this is just a note of caution and may not apply in any way to your installation or the joystick issues. Is there any suspicion of having to mess with security to get anything installed in the first instance? Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com

It's 9am here in London...just booted up the pc and will see what happens. Thanks again for your input. Out of interest are you referring to the settings in FSX>Controls>Enable flight controls? Out of interest are you referring to the settings in FSX>Controls>Enable flight controls? Ok so works a lot better. Thankyou. Nearly all assignments lost from FSUIPC for some reason and having fun re-doing the views etc but no interference. Will play around with the PMDG 737 next and see what happens.
