March 1, 201412 yr I have noticed one post from someone who says he has been around B1900s all his life and said that the wheel sizes are wrong; that the nose wheel should be smaller than the mains, and that the mains should be chunkier (he refers to a likeness in the B1990D to the King Air 350 - which it shouldn't represent). He also mentions that the rear fuselage shouldn't be as low to the ground like it is. Does anyone have a comment on these features in the Carenado model? I have watched some videos of real life B1900D's and I agree with him on the wheels issue, however are some B1900D aircraft in real life fitted with smaller wheels, or this something Carenado really has to attend to? Regards, John G
March 3, 201412 yr The nose wheel is 19.5 X 6.75-8 as opposed to the mains 22x6.75-10. Now there are some differences between the Goodyear and Michelin tires and there are some alternate sizes that are acceptable fits. You can fit a tiny 19 in the front with huge 24s in the rear. So like anything it all depends. The rear fuselage will all depend on loading and weight and balance and to some extent the rear tire to front tire size. You can also change how the airplane sits based on the servicing of the front strut. Of course someone who has been around 1900s "all his life" would know this. Of all of the things Carenado needs to fix, this should be very, very low on the list.
March 4, 201412 yr Author Thanks for the info, Ken. I didn't know about the tyre sizes but suspected that this would be the case. As for the loading and centre of gravity, I knew the answer to that (perhaps) but had to ask it. Your valued reply should spell the end of any further conjecture about all of this. Regards, John G
April 17, 201412 yr Okay I meant when empty! The wheel sizes they got wrong! The beacons don't flash like the real thing! Pmdg did perfect job with the wheels! Carenado didn't! They should fix the wheel sizes but no! They don't want to make their customers happy. The nav lights are not bright enough! And the beacons, are flashing wrong
April 18, 201412 yr Okay I meant when empty! The wheel sizes they got wrong! The beacons don't flash like the real thing! Pmdg did perfect job with the wheels! Carenado didn't! They should fix the wheel sizes but no! They don't want to make their customers happy. The nav lights are not bright enough! And the beacons, are flashing wrong The tires don't change size when the aircraft is empty versus full. A 22 x 6.75 is still going to be the same regardless if the airplane is at 10K or 17K pounds. But, a pilot spends very little time looking at the tires. Quick check during preflight and I am done. I spend allot more of my time inside of the airplane, so if something is going to get fixed I would prefer it be the systems (pressurization) or avionics (FMS). I really don't care if the tires are 1" off or if the airplane sits a little different. I don't spend my day staring at nav lights either. If they are on and sufficiently bright they pass.
April 21, 201412 yr Dude! I knew that when weight is added the tail sinks. I was saying I meant when the airplane has no people on it or hardly any weight, it should sit a little more level with the ground. Carenado didn't do a very good job with this model. Duh a pilot doesn't spend very much time looking at the tires. But when you are in love with airplanes, and you want a simulation model that someone is creating to be similar to the real airplane, you pay attention to all the details. I heard carenado just used the nose wheel off their c90 and king air b200. That's pathetic written all over that. There telling us they were to lazy to match the exact or create the exact nose wheel shape of the real one? That just makes me made. It's like the navigation lights they put on the their 1900D. They're blacklighted or whatever. They don't glow or aren't bright. And don't get me started on how crappy they simulated the actual beacons on the real aircraft. And Carenado's 1900D has people complaining about this stuff and also how they simulated how it flies and the flight dynamics and what not. Not a very good simulated beech 1900D. I really do care if the tires sizes are off! I care if anything is off!!!!!!!!!!! DETAILS! DETAILS! DETAILS! The other thing that makes me mad is, if you are a simulation company like Carenado and you creating simulated aircraft based off of real aircraft, you might want to listen to your customers. Carenado is lucky they have customers. They don't listen to their customers suggestions. If it was me, I'd be taking feedback and I would be making changes to make my simulation aircraft perfect so that my customers are happy. I wouldn't go suspend somebody's account just because I'm tired of hearing their e-mails about feedback that I won't even take into consideration and make the changes. These guys at carenado are horable. Worst company I've bought a simulation aircraft off of. I rate their 1900D a 5/10 and their customer service a big fat zero out of ten. It's all about the details. Just ask any other flight simulation group. Feelthere/Wilco Razbam, PMDG, etc. Thank you chandy for somewhat agreeing with me
April 22, 201412 yr Well, looks like Beechcraft, the manufacture, when they did the line drawing for the AFM disagrees with you. Notice how low the tail sits in this diagram. However, the servicing for the struts is based on how much strut is showing and not body angle. If you have the same poor attitude with Carenado that you have with me, I bet they don't listen. I am here to provide factual information that I can backup with actual written documentation. So far all you have done is rant and failed to prove a single one of your claims.
April 23, 201412 yr Quote: "These guys at carenado are horable." Really? that has not been my experience B) Bert
April 28, 201412 yr Gear wheel sizes are wrong. Carenado support sucks! Beacons don't flash correctly. Lighting too dim. Gear wheel sizes are not correct!!!!!! Do they want to fix it. No!!! Who are the ones paying for their product, us! You would think they want to make their customers happy and make changes but NO! AMEN BERT!
