Best Stearman for FSX?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just a quick reality check - is there any good Stearman for FSX out there? Good as in Milviz/A2A/RealAir or at Ants-good?

I read a couple of less than stellar things about the Vertigo version, and nothing particularly good about the Golden Age one either. As they both cost quite a bit of money I wanted to get some real feedback first... are those the only options?

Get the Waco biplane from Alabeo. Beautiful variants and fun to fly.

Synchronicity!  I was just thinking about starting a thread asking for the best open cockpit biplane for FSX.   And the Stearman 75 is just about my favorite bipe  in RL.

I have the Vertigo version,  and was underwhelmed.  I HATE to bash it since I was so looking forward to it.  For me, at least, the looping engine sound and questionable flight characteristics (true,  I have never flown one,  but read many pilot reports)  have meant it is a hangar queen in my FSX.

Robert Sanderson's ST75,  for FS9,  was absolutely superb (!),  but I don't know how it ports over to FSX.

Haven't tried anything from Alabedo (?) so can't comment there.

Interested in any more posts on this thread.

IMHO the Alabeo Waco is outstanding, especially for an economy priced model.  Like all Carenado products (yeah, Alabeo too) it is outstanding in appearance and seems to have a better flight model than some others from A
