April 8, 201412 yr Guys, I brought my Centurion out of the hanger for the first time in a year or so. I had changed PCs so I had to reinstall the 210 and the Reality 530. No problems all went well. So I decided to fly some ILS approaches. I intercepted the localizer and the OBS needle came in. BUT where do you get the glide slope information? The FD did not give any indication showing glide slope info. I must not have something set right. I also tried to see if the autopilot would fly the approach. Nothing. Help! Thanks!!
April 8, 201412 yr Author I have found that the A/P will not respond to any navigation. LOC, VOR or ILS. Only HDG and ALT. I flew this airplane a lot a year ago and don't recall any problems like this. I have the right FREQ selected, VLOC selected. I am stumped.
April 9, 201412 yr Is the [autopilot] section of your aircraft.cfg correct? Or is it [autopilot] autopilot=0 ? Something to look at anyway... Pat☺ Patrick S. Bernard Sgt. USMC (inactive)
April 9, 201412 yr Author Pat, I checked the aircraft.cfg and see that the line autopilot_available= 1 is in the [autopilot] section. Are there any other entries in the aircraft.cfg or RXPGNS.INI that may be causing a problem like this? Thanks for responding. Pete
April 9, 201412 yr Well umm....does the [Autopilot] section look anything like [autopilot]autopilot_available = 1flight_director_available = 0default_vertical_speed = 1000autothrottle_available = 0autothrottle_arming_required = 0autothrottle_max_rpm = 90autothrottle_takeoff_ga = 1pitch_takeoff_ga = 8max_pitch_velocity_hi_alt = 1.5max_pitch_velocity_lo_alt_breakpoint = 20000max_pitch_velocity_hi_alt_breakpoint = 28000max_pitch = 10max_pitch_acceleration = 1max_pitch_velocity_lo_alt = 2max_bank= 25max_bank_acceleration = 1.8max_bank_velocity = 3max_throttle_rate = 0.1nav_proportional_control = 9nav_integrator_control = 0.25nav_derivative_control = 0nav_integrator_boundary = 2.5nav_derivative_boundary = 0gs_proportional_control = 9.52gs_integrator_control = 0.26gs_derivative_control = 0gs_integrator_boundary = 0.7gs_derivative_boundary = 0yaw_damper_gain = 1.0use_no_default_bank=1use_no_default_pitch=1default_pitch_mode=0default_bank_mode=0 Have you looked in the .air file for that bird, and seen a section labeled 317 Autopilot Settings Autopilot Available=TRUE (1) along with several similar lines in it? All should be TRUE (1) easy to change, LClick the entry to toggle TRUE/FALSE Is there any kind of Autopilot guage available in the panel? Is it the right one for THAT bird? I don't have that bird to look at sooo...do you have a link for it so I can load it up and look at it? I'm not sure what else to offer atm... Pat☺ Patrick S. Bernard Sgt. USMC (inactive)
April 11, 201412 yr Solved.. had VLOC2 selected in the GNS530 I have over 600 hours of flight between FS9 and FSX and I still do this from time to time, this is why we usually have Co-Pilots with us! Fly Safe!
April 14, 201412 yr I have over 600 hours of flight between FS9 and FSX and I still do this from time to time, this is why we usually have Co-Pilots with us! Fly Safe! Suggest an aircraft model-specific "what I have neglected previously" checklist. With as many models as I have i really needed to resort to that suggestion. For instance, in the PA46T I have on multiple occasions neglected to switch on the generator. Usually go Duh when the instruments start going bye bye one by one, usually beginning with the airspeed indicator. I also with that model often load the PA46T, immediately turn off the avionics master, then switch it back on again as otherwise the PFD occasionally fails to start properly. With other 3rd party models I have to remind myself to switch to and from an FSX default model just to preclude potential issues. April 16, 201412 yr Author Guys, Thanks for all the input! Bert's response says it all: VLOC2 selected.
