C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX  This is for Windows XP

this is the file path, replace Yourname with what ever you named your computer.  This is for Win7 and maybe Win8
C:\Users\Yourname\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\fsx.CFG

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱

On Windows 7:

C:\Users\[Your User]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\

If you don't see the "AppData" folder that's because it's hidden. You can show hidden folder under "folder options", just search for "folder options" on the start menu and under the "View" tab, set "show hidden files, folders, and drives"

Run this tag:

%AppData%\Microsoft\FSX

And make sure you add the right line which is: HIGHMEMFIX=1

Flying right now

Yes I have Windows 7 & Total Commander both showing hidden files. It just didn't find using normal "search"

I will never fly without 2 monitors again. In fact, waiting on third DVI-D cable I'll have three soon

Then it is hidden. You have to modify your folder options it has radio button choices of what is displayed and how.

Do a search on your computer for "Folder Options"

So, please tell me, what is the fsx.cfg file that resides in the game's main [root] directory - does that not provide the game with all its variables?

I always thought it was that one which we amend...

Thank you,

Phil
