FPS drop above New Jersey

Featured Replies

New Jersey is one of those states I pass alot when I fly my fs9.

Normally I got a frame rate of 35 (locked at 35) and when Im at busy airports I got around 20. Perfect for me. The airports I have are from Flightbeam and Fsdreamteam. Over the years I collected alot of them. (JFK, DFW, SFO, LAS, LAX and so on)

There is an issue I have lately. When I come across New Jersey my frame rate drops like crazy. It goes to 5 fps and even lower and yesterday my FS did a CTD above Trenton.

What is going on? When I shut down the AI there is no problem. Could there be an issue with US Airways near or at KPHL?

KPHL I use is from Sunskyjet.

Who else has this problem? Do you have any suggestions?

I use an AI-combination of WoAI and I customized a lot of my traffic with AIFP.

The NE corridor NY,NJ, PA in any sim is the hardest on any system to fly in.

Lower your settings especially AI traffic.

LOL!

I was expecting that last answer. :-) I have been in the US only once and made a demestic flight from Atlanta to LaGuardia with a CRJ7. Above New Jersey we had some terrible turbulence, never experienced that. Whats wrong with NJ?

But serious, the traffic must really be the issue. Is it a common problem?

Happens in real life, too.

I live in this area.....this comment just made me laugh pretty hard.....

Hi meesterlijk,

There is a ton of commercial activity into Philadelphia and the various New York airports. Not too bad down low for GA, though.

In the sim, I can see how some detailed airports + airline traffic could drag performance down. There are some peak hours, even in Philadelphia, where it gets really busy. I would think LAX would slow things down, too, but I am not sure as I don't have any add-on airports.

disable your add-on scenery and ai and see if the issue goes away.  Enable them one at a time and see which causes the issue.  Yes, NY/NJ is very demanding but Trenton is closer to Philly than NY and you should not drop to 5fps so I would look at add-ons in that area...  I get 60FPS in NJ, locked at 60FPS due to VSync and even get 35FPS at Simflyers KEWR with 100%AI

I'm trying to find the solution here. I first thought there was a wrong aircraft within the JetBlue package so I reinstalled that one. Without difference.

I got rid of double Afcad files. Nothing.

I also got rid of KPHL to see if the problem comes from this scenery. Also at default PHL I got 4 fps. There must be something wrong with the US airways package.

And at default KPHL without US Air?

I found the problem.

I removed Kphl and both the US air packages. (Usair and express)

Without them the frames went up to 35 (locked)

Then I reinstalled Usair and the frames stayed at 35.

Now I reinstalled Usair express and down they go.

So: if you ever have plans to fly with UsAir express at my rig I'm sorry. This airline does not fly anymore.
